Just curious and it's certainly not my business to tell you what to do. But common sense would dictate that if you are that frustrated and upset by the years and years of losing, there is a simple solution. Stop going to the games and following the team. Not sure why you are putting yourselves through this and paying a lot of money to do it.

It is not illogical or indicative of poor “fandom” to be upset we haven’t been dancing in a quarter century. If you want everyone to smile like Labradors when things go poorly (don’t know how you could argue for instance, that the last two games weren’t freaking awful) maybe big time college sports isn’t for you either. Cheer the team and players and stay loyal, but criticism is certainly fair game.

Not saying criticism is bad. But the people who constantly harp on the inferior product on the court year in and year out but continue to buy season tickets year in and year out and spend a lot of money doing it doesn't make a lot of sense.

There seems to be no willingness to acknowledge that there hasn't been a commitment to build a program because there truly wasn't any financial commitment to do so.

It's like saying you want to go on vacation, but don't have any way to buy the tickets to fly or drive to your destination....Or worse, you say you want to get into shape, but eat all the same foods you did before, expecting the same results.

If the staff wasn't top notch and there wasn't any improvement that showed up vs Florida State (2nd best team RU played this year), Michigan State (best team on RU's schedule) and Seton Hall (3rd or 4th best team on schedule, dependent on your viewpoint of Minnesota), then I would think the complaints would be valid.

No one wants to go through the improvement stages....The B1G is just like the NBA.....There are your Golden State's, your Celtics, Rockets, Spurs Cavs etc that have better players currently, but there are teams that are on the way up, that are getting better each year. RU isn't making the playoffs, just like the Knicks aren't and a few others aren't either....but in a couple of years time, those teams on top will not be.

Everything is gradual....improvement and declines are usually hidden in both directions, since everyone is only shallow enough to look at wins and losses right now.. Unfortunately for those that only view success as 2006 vs Louisville in football, they missed the bumps along the way in 2004 and 2005..... the ride up is much better than people realize and sometimes the good times are right in front of you. I'd rather be where RU stands than quite a few schools in the next 5-10 years time.

There are some schools that have been on top and are declining, but fans are still viewing those schools as being better just because they are better this year....or better yet, they aren't even paying attention enough to notice....in a couple of years when RU is on the same level as these other schools/programs, some will still complain, while those programs on the way down, will be worried....

Conversely, I would hate to see people abandon the program during down periods if they have an actual attachment to the school. Casual fans can -- and should -- go away rather than bitch and moan, but those of us who love Rutgers with or without a basketball team are not going to shut up. We will suffer and hope for better things, which, it appears, might actually be happening. But if it's a mirage, we'll still be here. Going if we can, watching if we can't. And complaining.

clearly based on attendance at the RAC (and HPSS) many are doing just that. being so damn loyal for so damn long and wanting more is not something bad. and the particular recent burst of frustration stems from FINALLY feeling like we were really getting past the WTF stuff. whiplash effect of going from high to low so fast.
or said another way..we're Rutgers fans where hope springs eternal.

During this recent period of consecutive losing seasons there has been declining season ticket holders . For example,I was in a group of six season ticket holders in the same row and now I am the only one left .They left because they were tired of paying for a losing product .Winning matters especially in the NY/NJ Metro area because sports fans have so many options for their entertainment dollar.

8 of us gave up our season tickets right before Littlepages last year. Now we buy a few games a year. I think Pick has it going in the right direction and that the new practice facilities will help him, as well as C Viv and Goodale , ramp up recruiting even more. We go to a few W BB games as well as most Wrestling matches too.

PS- have been a season ticket holder for football since the year after I graduated (1975).
