RU host Purdue Friday , Sat and Sunday. Purdue is 5-6 in conference Play, RU is 5-4. This weekend series will be critical to RU's chances of making the 8 team Big 10 Tourney.

Total embarrassment to lose to a mid major that was 7-24 coming in. This is why a lot of people thought the MSU series was fools gold.

At this point mid week non conference games are completely meaningless. I think they took out Bellisimo after the 5th, pitching a terrific game , only throwing 65 pitches to replace him with a kid who would never see an inning of a weekend game, who quickly blew the game, was to save Bellissimo in case they need him in relief for the all important games this weekend against Purdue. Nobody will even remember this Hofstra game by Sunday night.
Completely meaningless as are all the non conference mid week games once a team is no longer an 'At Large' NCAA Tournament contender. And RU never was. Only getting into the Big10 Tournament is of any significance and believe it or not, RU now has a decent chance. I'm betting they win 2 out of 3 if not sweep Purdue. Our weekend starters have improved a lot over the past month.

Joe should have just foreited if you're going to buy into those bullshit excuses. You play to win the game and Nuts is right. Losing to a 7-24 Hofstra team is pathetic.
