QB recruiting

While much of the talk around quarterback recruiting has surfaced around juniors Jarrett Guarantano and Dwayne Haskins, the RU staff has also reached out to some other candidates. South Carolina native Steven Duncan of Ashley Ridge High School has five non FBS offers and has been hearing a lot from the RU staff recently. Duncan said that he may visit RU this spring depending the amount of interest the staff shows him in the coming weeks.

Another potential target is San Juan Hills (California) quarterback Pat O'Brien. He is also hearing a lot from the RU staff and was named one of the best of the rest at the recent LA Rivals Quarterback Challenge Camp.

Long snapper recruiting
After last season's poor display by RU long snapper Alan Lucy, the staff went out looking for long snappers to push him for a starting spot. Alex Hutchings has already committed as a preferred walk-on and that kind of slowed things a bit with Bergen Catholic senior Chris Sayan. Recently, Louisville has begun pressing Sayan with a walk-on offer. Sayan said he would like to stay home for college, although the Cardinals just graduated their long snapper so the field may be a little less crowded there as opposed to RU. Sayan has also received some FCS scholarship offers and could make a final decision sometime this month.
