Here are a couple of notes from today’s Rutgers basketball practice.
- Today Issa Thiam and Geo Baker were in a little three point shooting contest yet again before practice. Issa won the battle, but not by too much. Thiam is still the best
- You can clearly see right away that Baker has improved his shooting a lot after last season. In the 2017-2018 season Baker shot 38% from the field, expect that number to go up this season.
- Also, you can really see the leadership of Baker while on the floor. At one point during practice he was helping to coach up Shaq Carter and some others. He’s also the most vocal guy whether he is on or off the court.
- A couple interesting notes, Omoruyi was working on a lot with the big guys today. Also guys like Harper and Thiam were working more with the guards.
- As of right now it looks like the starting lineup for game one will be Baker, Mathis, Thiam, Omoruyi and Doorson. However you can expect some of the backups to play quite a bit of minutes regardless of the lineup.
