ND has the Subway Alumni, SEC has their version known as T-Shirt fans.

Now we have ours...

In another thread, knightfan7 had a great idea. Let's do something with it...

Can somebody photoshop the R in the image into the the Block R on the one on the left? And/or change all the R's in the other one to the Block R in red with maybe a Knighthead in the middle where NB is located?

If you consider just the "membership" on ScarletNation, it's not too shabby of a club to be in. Some heavy hitters in it already.

I would buy a hat, the t-shirt, whatever right away.

Don't like it. Plays into the "You're from Jersey? What exit?" joke, that portrays the state as nothing more than paved over.

Certainly there is a better name for local fans.

While I highly value your opinion on just about anything I don't think it's any worse than "subway alumni".

And we're from...

So too bad if the rest of the country can't deal with us. LOL

But what if you live off the GSP instead?

(I'm an Exit 2'er on the Turnpike, but I figured I'd ask anyway.)

I always got pissed off when people asked what exit I'm from and expected a Turnpike exit #. I'm from Exit 114 on the Parkway dammit!

And does exit 2 even count as NJ? I kid, I kid.

Well, the New Jersey Turnpike Authority administers both highways. So perhaps use the second picture from e5fdny's post? lol

Good call RUsSKii, that is why I added the other one as soon as I found it.

Change all the R's to the Block R in red with maybe a Knighthead in the middle where NB is located. Also remove or pick a different date at the bottom.

I like the idea but I see the Block "R" coming off the State map around NB so it has a trail following it (Kind of like fireworks lifting it). Hell any old-timers remember the band Holme....They used circled Jersey image for their song Garden State Parkway Boogie

Could also do road map with all roads leading to the Scarlet Block "R" and surround it with "Knights United"

"The Birth Place of College Football "

That's our saying and what we are known for.

The house band at D'Jais still uses that as their logo.

Exactly what I thought.

Interesting idea, but it is worse than the subway alumni because it plays into that whole stereotype. I guess if you want to reinforce a stereotype...but might as well be the turnpike guidos.

I think a better idea for the t-shirt can be derived from the contest NJ Tourism had when they wanted to replace Tom Kean Sr.s "New Jersey and You, Perfect Together " campaign.

They released some of the more sarcastic entries, one of which is perfect for a football team:

JERSEY - YOU GOT A PROBLEM WITH THAT?

Whoever photoshops it, it needs to be a red block 'R'.

I'd personally go with "Knights of the Round Table" ... because, well, it's pretty funny how it ties into Rivals and history. And not stereotypical. It'd be fun to make some sort of T-shirt this year, though.

Why are we looking for something to fix here? No stereotype reinforcements please.

I didn't go to Rutgers, never even took a class there. But I do have connections there besides just living in NJ.
