Even Rex Rayn laughs at that prediction.

Only way they can get the media to show up.AAC Media Day is still in Newport? Awesome.
---------------------Did Greg get the same reaction around here when he promised championships too?
Around here? Probably not, but he was OUR dickhead, not UConn's, so we were more than willing to deal with his pie in the sky vision. I'm sure posters (if they existed) on SUX, Da U, and Freddo would've made hay with GS's vision at the time. Diaco's attempts at propping up his team probably make even hardcore Husky FB fans cringe.Did Greg get the same reaction around here when he promised championships too?
Schiano said we would compete for a national championship AT SOME POINT. Big difference. This would be the equivalent of Greg calling for us to go undefeated the year after his initial 2-9 campaign.Did Greg get the same reaction around here when he promised championships too?
Maybe not paisan but i can't help but sympathise with their plight...that PP hire sealed their setback but either the ACC or us is where their gonna end up IMO !?! Their the last decent team in the vital NE corridor and I expect something to break in the next couple yrs...but for the grace of god.I like having them and even sorrycuse on our schedule.I believe in the regional importance of CFB for its health.---------------------
at least we had a pathway of sorts....in 06 when we were 9-0, I think it was, we were ranked sixth in the country....it is possible, not probable, if we swept the remaining games we would have been considered, but we needed a lot to happen to be there...
if RU had gone undefeated in 06, and returned another very good team in 07, we would have been ranked in the top 4 or 5 if we won our first six or seven games in 07.....the move up to the top a shorter path for RU once you start as a near top 10, or top 10 team.
.I always thought that a chance at the national championship was a two year process for RU, when we were in the big east....the first year to get ranked in the top 4 or 5, maybe jilted....then start off pre season in the top 10 the next, and move up from there.
with UConn, I don't see a pathway at all.....the league will not get, and will never get enough respect to play in THE big game.
I didn't like Diaco's game day coaching last yr but their recruiting is OK under the circumstances...I prefer brash to humble. Lets give him a couple yrs. This is really beyond amusing, I find his position to be a bit disturbing. I get that every team in the nation is currently undefeated, but where does he go from here? They are clearly closer to going without a win than even having a winning record once the season is over. If I were the AD, I would be pulling this guy back from the cliff.

I would have preferred to see Cuse in their shoes.By the grace of God......goes Rutgers
Thank you Big Jim for the ticket to the P5 dance
In a sense cuse is in their shoes even in a P5 conference their football is falling into never never land and I agree I would have loved to cure still in the AAC and how stupid the ACC not picking ucant over saraI would have preferred to see Cuse in their shoes.
We would have been in the same boat... thank goodness we are the State University of NEW JERSEY and part of the Biggest TV Market on Earth and our football team doesn't completely suck.
