Update on The Alley from Hobbs

It seems reasonable. (Of course you can nitpick the details.) But if they're looking for alternative sites or modifications to the existing site, and they are able to accomplish this within 2 weeks, then I think that is the best you could ask for.

This guy gets it.
This this is positive response to a problem. Let's see if it gets done.

If he really did "get it", he would not have apologized for taking a sip of beer in the first place. That just fueled the fire that would have gone out in short order had he ignored it or just laughed it off. You can throw in losing conference home games to Yankee Stadium as a vote against fully getting it also.

Simply put, explanation makes sense, and they are going to something to make it right. The Alley was successful beyond their wildest dreams and in fact was TOO successful. Similar to how Deinerfest moved to Busch to become Rutgers fest due to Deinerfest becoming too big to hold all those students being right on top of Route 18.

They will right this and make this idea of the Alley work again. I was envisioning our Alley becoming our version of the Grove at Ole Miss. Maybe they do too.

Both Coach and Pat Hobbs are exceeding my expectations tenfold. They understand how to create a proper environment for success in recruiting, training, and on the field. And in the class.

I feel i understand how some of us criticize some of their actions - we do it because we want Rutgers Football to matter. But I encourage you to look deep into your souls and explore all the other possible outcomes since last November, and honestly see something better than where we are going now.

It's the real deal this time. Go RU!

People talk about being willing to run through a brick wall for a coach. And that's true with regard to Ash, no doubt.

But I'd also be willing to run through a brick wall for our AD. #InHobbsWeTrust

After troubles, shootings etc got Rutgersfest shut you then had Delafest riots. I'm surprised RU people were surprised about a hyped student party spot. Such a bad idea. Wise to end it quickly

I think there were only two posters ripping Hobbs yesterday and they posted often. I'd imagine we'd have a lot more posters like this if Rutgers was in the bible belt and we'd all be used to it by now.

If they would just post in all caps, it would be easier for me to recognize their member names.

Rutgersfest got shut down because too many outsiders (read: non-Rutgers students) came in to the free event and caused problems. They shut down the Alley because they could probably forsee history repeat itself if the Alley were to continue without rethinking the logistics of it.

The takeaway in the letter is the part of about alcohol. So the "new and improved" might end up being a bit too tame for the kids.

Only thing I would have added to the letter is to change this part...

"I know it’s early, but you made it to The Alley, so hopefully you can make it there. JOIN ME IN the student section before kickoff, cheer wildly throughout the game and join together in a rousing rendition of the Alma Mater afterwards."

Even if he stays just for the 1st quarter I bet it would go over very well.
