This win not only ended our three game losing streak, but showed a team with resiliency. Corey was a stud tonight and major props to Eugene who was a monster in D. He had caused two offensive fouls, did really well against Happ when he covered him, and then knocked down those FT's. Yes, it wasn't always pretty, but is it ever with these guys? LOL!

Geo was his smooth self. I hope next time when he drives and he's that open he just dunks it. That layup miss had me smacking my desk because it brought back SB and our inability to not always close out games. And what appeared to be another choke like SB, turned into a resilient win, because our kids refused to go down that path again.

Yes, we play MSU next week and we know how that's going to end, but just to get off the snide should give our kids the confidence they need. They now know that playing in the RAC with our fans gives us an advantage against the better teams. If we can win more than we lose at the RAC against B1G opponents, and if we steal one on the road we might just have a winning record at season's end and we haven't seen a winning record in years. Go RU!

put back a positive spin for team.
This team isn't as bad as it looks at times.
It's a team improving slowly and when it looks good we tend to think it is as good as it looks and get pissed when it proves it has a-ways to go.

Good points. But this team is not good enough to lose focus, not rebound and not make their FT's. When they're focused and play as a team, good things happen. That's not what we saw in the three losses.

:cool2:[jumpingsmile]:cool2:[jumpingsmile]MOJO is BACK !!!:cool2:[jumpingsmile]:cool2:[jumpingsmile]

We made plenty of mistakes but made even MORE good plays on D

Williams was ALL over this earlier. Said these kids are too into "jelly" plays instead of taking it to the rim. BIG problem these days!

Every win is an important one because this team needs to learn how to win BIG games. Help is on the way.

You could tell from he start Pike knew how big this was...he was sweating playing D on the sidelines 10 minutes in. His passion and intensity is the driving force of the team.

If only they played with such effort against Stony Brook and Hartford.. could be sitting at 13-4 right now. EMU all over again...

They should have figured that out after Stony Brook. I can live with one. Hartford was inexplicable.

Great job limiting and frustrating Happ. Props to Sa for making a big contribution in that effort. And the old Eugene returned. He's tough and took at least three charges tonight. I really root for that guy. Big steal that led to that tide turning dunk by Freeman. Of course, without Corey's scoring none of the above would've mattered. The Corey matchup vs. the Wisconsin guards was a total mismatch.

We frustrated Happ from the get-go he NEVER really got into the flow of the game and that may have been the difference right there.

A good win in a game we should win. Wisc is not very good. Great job on Happ by Eugene and Sa. Freeman was a mess on D against Happ.

Good to see Corey shooting confidently. Geo and Corey had a big advantage athletically against their guards. Second half we seemed to be playing aggressively again. Would like to see more double screens for Thiam for catch and shoot. I was wonder why they never do that.

Great point on resliency...and they had to overcome advesity at least 3 times in the 2nd half none more satsifying than the last 2 minutes when Corety took over.

Great game by the team.

Frustrating Happ, picking up charges, Corey and the gang played very well!

How long is it going to take people to let those 2 loses go? Is every positive basketball post going to have the obligatory only if we beat Stony Brook and Hartford.

The team is getting better and thing are looking for the first time in a long time, can’t we just enjoy it for once?

In fairness, this is our first win since those losses so... and if we end up just below some threshold (winning season or postseason tournament bubble status), expect to hear it again.

Some major props should go out to coach Young. As mentioned on the telecast he was responsible for the defensive strategy. We did a great job on Happ, and also Happ had an un-Happ-like day. Still 10 and 10, but with 7 turnovers.

Also, loved the Rashod Kent play by Eugene to jump the pass to the post that led to D's dunk.

We also seem to be getting a walk on centers more often when they bang into our defender (usually Eugene) and we step back from the next bang putting the player off balance, great addition to interior defense, well schooled play.

I expect to hear it the rest of the season, I am just going to enjoy watching a competitive, well coached basketball team.

You are acting like it was months ago. They were the 2 previous games. It's gonna take more than a few days, especially if it costs us something at the end.

Excellent point, I just hope it is not a repeat of the EMU game for football, which I think was mentioned on almost every thread after a win.

We will see.

Excellent planning by coach, and great player execution. Good night for the program. I am sure that makes coach proud.
