A lot of talk this preseason that Kirk C would use a lot of 12 personnel.
However, Kirk has a history of using mostly 11 personnel and last year at Minny used 12 personnel less than Gleason used 12 at Rutgers. The results are in so far in 2023…
So far Kirk is using a 11 personnel at a would be a record pace of 82% if it continues going forward. Way above the FBS average. 12 personnel is only being used on 16% of plays. BUT….
12 personnel has been our most successful personnel package this year (but by an extremely slim margin over 11) Outperforming the FBS average.
Sometimes when you come out of OOC play you may switch things up. Might be something to keep an eye on as we go into Michigan to see if schematically some of what we held back could be additional 12 personnel looks.
