It's impossible to control how different people address the mike. Pikiel was easy to hear. But Doorson mumbles a bit and was farther away from the mike with his deep voice, which is harder to discern. But I guess that is where we are today with expectations. We expect instant gratification and perfection. 20 years ago we'd be thrilled if we were able to watch a video of the post game presser on the internet a few hours after the game. I remember calling into the station to do a "live report" from Rhode Island after Wenzel's knights beat URI at Keaney Gymnasium. The technology was so primitive. And how about the early 90's when you could pay $30 to listen to the games via your telephone. We would tape a microphone to the handset and stick both in an ice chest (to muffle out background noise) and play it over the stereo.
Now when the sound is less than perfect on an internet broadcast, we complain. lol
