Basketball VIDEO: Steve Pikiell talks Media Day, Previews 2022-23 season

— Michigan, Indiana and Seton Hall games this season are SOLD OUT.

— No updates on the RAC renovations as of right now per Pikiell. He mentioned that this is something that is far down the line.

— Caleb McConnell tweaked his knee and F Antonio Chol tweaked his ankle in practice this week.

— Pikiell mentioned how big it was to retain his staff this offseason, mentioned Karl Hobbs is out recruiting today.

— Pike said he would purposely put McConnell on Simpson the first few days to get him used to the college game.

— Added he’s getting into really good shape and said he’s hard to guard at times.
 
— A lot of hype for Cliff from Pike today. Mentioned Cliff’s freshman year he knew 2 different screen coverages, now he knows around 9.

— Chol has only been on campus for six weeks, but Pike mentioned he’s a good passer and shooter. Pike mentioned that his game reminds him of Akwasi Yeboah.

— Pike said all of his assistant coaches had other opportunities this offseason but was thankful they all returned.

— Pike on Caleb: “98 percent of what’s put out in social media is about offense. People talk about how many points this guy scores, but every time you have a player who takes 12 points away from the other team, that should really be added to his average."
 
Any word on how serious these “tweaks” are ? Hearing about Caleb’s knee “tweak” is a bit concerning.
