Just to keep everyone in the loop, vk about 3-4 weeks ago made a list of about say 20-30 possible coaches which contained the usual suspects:Herman, Babers, Fuentes, etc., and I bet him $50 bucks payable to the TD Club that we would get exactly zero of those guys. I honestly thought if another coach had any other option, they would take that option over Rutgers based on all the crap going on with money, perception, etc.

Fast forward three weeks and here we are with Ash. I am relatively sure he wasn't on your radar vk, nor anyone else's. As someone stated a day or so ago, "you couldn't pick this guy out of a lineup 5 days ago". However I LOVE this hire. I love the aggressive defensive which he will bring to the table, I love his personality from the small sample size I have seen and read, and I just think, although admittedly it is a gamble taking someone with no head coaching experience, he has that "it factor" that will propel this program for a long term. The one story I loved is how he convinced the Ohio State coaching staff to change that way to tackle to the "rugby" style. This is the best coach in the league and one of the best in all of college football and he has proven it for a long time and Ash convinced him to completely change his thinking. And it worked. Do you think he is going to have an issue talking to a HS kid with his family?

To sum it up, it is exactly what I expected with this hire and everything I hoped.

So vk, I say we both win and we both send a $50 check to the TD Club. Deal?
