Recruiting Tidbits:
RB Aaron Young (Coatesville - PA): Hearing that the Scarlet Knights are still in very good position for the 2019 stud running back even though he’s on an official visit to Arkansas this weekend. Young has also been hearing from a number of other schools that include Purdue, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, but it’s looking like there is a good chance Young might commit sometime over the next month or so.
DE Bryce Nelms (West Orange - NJ): Right now Nelms is hearing a lot from the Scarlet Knights and they are doing very well with him at the moment. He doesn’t have any return trips planned just yet for Rutgers, but will be visiting Pittsburgh on June 16th. The Panthers are his newest offer as they extended an offer to the 3-star prospect at the end of April. At the moment he is still set for a summer decision, don’t be shocked if that decision comes next month.
DE Jarrod Hufford (Licking Valley - OH): Hufford currently does not hold a Rutgers offer just yet, but that could change very soon. He is hearing a lot from Coach Blazek at the moment and is planning on visiting campus on June 10th. We will have more on Hufford in an article very soon.
DE Steven Hawthorne (De La Salle Institute - IL) - Rutgers offered 3-star defensive end Steven Hawthorne earlier this week.
“Coach Erb was the one who offered me,” said Hawthrone. “His message to me was that I would look great playing as a stand up OLB in a 3-4 front. The offer means that I have a great opportunity to better myself at one of the top colleges. It means a lot to me.”
He currently holds offers from the likes of Illinois, Nebraska, Cincinnati, Eastern Michigan, Central Michigan and Syracuse.
ATH Dequanteous Watts (Maynard Jackson - GA): As we hinted at in last week’s War Room, Watts is still working on setting an official visit to Rutgers for mid-June. Right now it is all but confirmed but that he will be visiting for the weekend of June 15th-17th. Watts is will be talking with his parents some time next week and it should be 100% official some time around then.
ATH Kerry Martin (Capital - WV): Rutgers is showing a ton of interest again in Martin and he still holds the Scarlet Knights at the top of his list. He’s still working out plans to try and visit campus later this evening for camp but should they fall through he told TKR that he’ll reschedule for later this month. Despite him saying he doesn’t have a timeline to commit, it looks as though Rutgers may be ready to accept his commitment with the interest from Connor Grecio fading.
‘20 WR Michael Wyman (Dudley - NC) - Rutgers hosted one of the top wide receiver in the Class of 2020 earlier this week as Dudley (NC) 4-star Michael Wyman took an unofficial visit to campus.
“It was a great visit,” Wyman told The Knight Report. “I had the chance to meet with the staff, tour the football and academic facilities and learn about what Rutgers has to offer.
"I spent most of my time with Coach Erb and Coach Hewitt. It was very informal and interesting as we talked about football, education and life in general.”
Wyman will be visiting Purdue this weekend and also has plans to visit Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Michigan.
‘18 SG Aundre Hyatt (Miller School - MD): At the moment he is hearing from a lot of schools, however he is planning on taking three visits. Hyatt tells us he plans to visit Pittsburgh, LSU, and Temple. Rutgers is still reaching out every single week but appear to be on the outside looking in.

TEAM NEWS
BASEBALL: Hearing it is more and more likely that an MLB team will take Jawuan Harris some time in the first seven rounds of the draft. The latest mock draft TKR has seen had Harris going in the fourth round to the Red Sox.
FOOTBALL: Running back Elijah Barnwell is fully cleared and will battle for playing time during training camp, although unlikely that happens unless others go down
