I don't know what the hell it is with our coaches but every time we're in close game against a chump opponent we play "not to lose". This is a nobody gimme game (at least in theory it should be)...its a glorified scrimmage. Isn't it better to help your young QB learn by going no huddle. Who cares what the hell happens. Make him hurry, get him comfortable in chaos. This is the chance to learn, grow, get better. Playing scared sure as shit won't help when MSU, WISC, NEB, OSU, show up to play.....and if we're not good enough to beat Norfolk state playing loose, then what the hell does it matter anyway???
