on the sidelines and you can see why he relates so well to the kids.

At the bigger programs you have to be able to win on top of it but it is obvious why he is moving up the ranks quickly

This definitely isn't the game to judge his coaching acumen on.

Not a fan of his and all his antics either but I agree with this. A game against MSU is just house money. If you do well, it looks good and if you get blown out, it's expected. How he does in the MAC is what counts. He's outrecruiting all of them so the "salesman" has to deliver results on the field.

Anyone who would hire our good ole friend Kurt Ciarocca as your OC has to be a little off his rocker. Position coach maybe not to run the show especially after our disaster.

He's kicking ass right now. They're only down 37-24 and have the ball inside Sparty's 8 with 3 minutes left.

Would all of his antics and crap work at a P5 school? Probably not unless he walked in and starting winning/bringing in top 15 recruiting classes. But I think he can be a real quality HC, at least in terms of recruiting and relation to players. I wish he never left; he could be a real good OC and his recruiting ability combined with Flood's ability to find "diamonds in the rough" could have been deadly.

I said this in one of the other threads earlier this week. He may have that "used car salesman" feel more than your typical coach but him and others like him, Franklin/Kiffin, are very good recruiters. You can't deny that. People buy up all the stuff they dish out.

I don't know how he'd do well on the next level, although I tend to think not good. I always lean towards the coach over the recruiter though. Hoke/Kiffin and many others recruit well but weren't successful HCs. He'll probably recruit better than whomever his predecessor was but he likely won't be outrecruiting the name brand programs in a P5 league like he's doing now at WMU. Kudos to him though for what he's done there on the recruiting trail. He'd need strong coordinators under him like I consider Shoop at PSU. I also don't know how he'd do at OC, he's never been one before so hard to say. Eventually though, I do think he'll get a shot if he can do well at the MAC level.

On CFB Gameday, they kept calling Fleck the "Western Michigan" coach. That's not a coach that has arrived. He needs to work on that row the boat dance a little more. That'll do it.
