    1. Clemson – Most key skill guys return including the star QB/RB/WRs. D loses some.

    2. Alabama – A lot of losses. Strength of team will be WRs for a change.

    3. Oklahoma – Tremendous skill position players remain

    4. LSU – Incredible 1-2 at RB. Concern as always will be passing game but WR talent

    5. Stanford – Focus will be on McCaffrey but well rounded team with talent at QB

    6. Ohio State – Lost more talent on both sides than expected. Still great QB/Coach combo

    7. Baylor – Offense was unstoppable before QB injuries. Some key losses on lines.

    8. Tennessee – Experienced QB and some stars on D. Passing game needs consistency.

    9. Florida State – Huge issue is QB. Very young team got through rebuilding year this past season.

    10. Michigan – May return most of the top B1G teams but QB a ?

    11. Michigan State – Solid but not spectacular. Feel comfortable with O’Connor.

    12. UCLA – Must be healthier on D. Rosen in year 2 will be a benefit.

    13. USC – Talent scattered around field but we’ve heard this story for a couple years now.

    14. Notre Dame – Weathered injury bug well in 2015. Set up well at QB but losing a lot

    15. Oregon – Looked bad without Vernon Adams. Don’t think they can find another Adams.

    16. Oklahoma State – Fell back with tougher competition but team was young in some places.

    17. Iowa – Return a lot of players and schedule is still beneficial. Fun game with NDSU.

    18. North Carolina – Didn’t beat anyone in 2015 but key players on O do return.

    19. Louisville – Team to watch out for with talent on D and a dangerous QB learning to play.

    20. Ole Miss – Key stars are gone but good incoming class, experienced QB, culture developed.

    21. Wisconsin – Defense will always be strong. Must run ball more consistently like previously.

    22. Georgia - Lot of pressure on incoming freshman. Talent remains on both sides of ball.

    23. Houston – Lose top RB/WR but QB that makes it all work returns.

    24. Washington – Came on strong late building around two youngsters at QB/RB. Great coach.

    25. TCU – Lose a lot of talent but bowl comeback showed its not all about Boykin.

    26. Miami – Richt falls into good situation with QB and a team that did win some games in 2015.

    27. Boise State – Had some weird games last season with turnovers. Return many key guys.

    28. Texas A&M – One of the toughest to evaluate. Maybe most talented WRs and battle-tested QB.

    29. Florida – Awful finish does not erase the defensive talent. Must figure out QB situation.

    30. Nebraska – Got momentum off of bowl win for Armstrong final year.

    31. West Virginia – Smallwood leaving disappointing but explosive O still.

    32. Arizona State – Coming off a poor season, should be good in the backfield.

    33. Arkansas – Lose a ton on offense including the two RBs that have thrived under coach.

    34. Washington State – Surprising 2015 with a lot of good wins. Can D replicate in 2016?

    35. Utah – Lose a lot. Don’t think this will be the same team that we saw for much of last year.

    36. Northwestern – Got their money’s worth from losses in 2015. Can’t overachieve again.

    37. Auburn – Will have to figure out QB situation. Seemed to find a RB late in year.

    38. Texas – Probably best non-bowl team last season needs more offensive consistency.

    39. Arizona – Defense remains hideous. Should be healthier in backfield.

    40. Mississippi State – Returns some talent but Dak meant so much.

Even if the Rutgersals of the world want to rank Rutgers somewhere optimistically, its better to just ignore that instinct and let the team have no pressure for this season.

But where would you rank Rutgers? 80s? 70s?

How could you not have Temple on that list ?
They've got their qb and rb returning for their senior seasons. And if you listen to some of the Owl fans who have visited here recently Temple has loads of talent just waiting in the wings to replace the seniors that they are losing. And, of course, they've still got their coach.

Tennessee's 2016 motto: It's maybe finally the year? Eventually we'll turn it around!

My WAY Too Early Top 10
1) Michigan - They return almost everyone. The B1G East is navigable. O'Korn will be a step up.
2) Clemson - Watson healdines a lot of returnees.
3) Oklahoma - Mayfield and Perrine will win a lot of games next season. This will be an exciting team.
4) Stanford - McCaffery is a monster. They need to replace Hogan.
5) Alabama - A lot of replacements (including Kirby smart). But as long as Saban is there, this team is a playoff contender.
6) Iowa - Beathard really impressed me this year. The defense is in tact enough that I actually think Ferentz can put two good years together.
7) Houston - Man did they impress. If they run the table, they HAVE to be a playoff team, right?
8) My Least Favorite Team - The defense was absolutely awesome last year and their two losses were to Stanford and Clemson, very quality. They have an intriguing QB battle.
9) LSU - I think they will take a huge step forward behind Fournette.
10) Ole Miss - Chad Kelly is THE TRUTH. He is my Heisman pick!

Georgia won't finish the season top 35 maybe 40 next year. Bet on it.

At least 6 to 10 spots too high for these teams.

5. Stanford – Focus will be on McCaffrey but well rounded team with talent at QB
See what I said above. Stanford has MCaffrey back, but they're losing 4 starters on the line, the QB and 8 starters on defense. And starting week 3 they have USC, at UCLA, at Washington, Washington State and at Notre Dame. They're going to be good, but they're not going to be top 5 good.
