We are about to find out if ash can recruit

Doesn't matter...77 to 0 is a whole different level of ugly he will have to overcome..
I had the DePaul High School coach sitting in front of me. He had several of his players at the game who were going to meet the Rutgers coaches after the game. At half time they told the coach let's go home, we do not want to meet with the RU coaches.

Ultimately, what will matter is how we play from here on out. This is a new level of suck, and much worse than expected, but not really by that much. Ash needs to get this team to rebound and play hard in the winnable games. Its going to be tough.

Yup - this is exactly what I was afraid of...I will be amazed if we don't see decommits after this game.

Can we at least see one kid decommit before we start the panic? Seriously...

You're right - I'm probably overreacting, but how can you not after that game? We had 200 kids at HighPoint tonight. That was a nightmare.

Again, I really hope we can convince these kids that the systems we are running will lead to success in the B1G. They are going to need kids like Melton and Clark to keep this class together. I sure hope they can, because this program desperately needs a talent infusion.

can you blame the kids

So funny. In August he was the Messiah and we shouldn't even be underdogs against Washington, which was clearly overrated. Now we are so bad, it's worse than the Shea years and nobody ever will want to come here.

This is a good time for the 24-hour rule. I am embarrassed, to be sure, but I will wait and see how we compete against teams that aren't bigger and faster than us at every single position before I judge him as a strategist, and I'm sure as hell going to wait until signing day to judge his recruiting. Maybe even signing day of 2019.

We suck. A lot. And I have no idea if Ash is the man or not, but I'm also going to give him some time. We have more talent and better facilities than we had when Shea left, but we also had a dysfunctional team, a program reeling from off-the-field embarrassment, a first-time head coach and a brutally front-loaded schedule.

Let's see how we fare against the more reasonable opponents before making even early judgments.

We need the receivers to stay badly and thank goodness mitchell is in the program already.

Dear mods I'm sure Red Spartan is a good guy. However, his video is in poor taste. Please remove it ASAP.

I expected this would be the challenge all along once he got on a roll with verbal commitments. Hopefully he was straight with them about the situation and the kids understood it may not always be pretty before the get here and perhaps their first year or two while here. Having said that, the past two weeks have made that challenge more difficult than anyone could have reasonably imagined. Even the most loyal supporters must allow some doubts to creep in and we are talking about 18 year old kids who tend to be very impressionable. Upfront and honest is all he can continue to be. Hopefully that will work for most of them who are looking for an opportunity to play early and be a part of a program resurgence.

Better that they left
....what can be said after that game....give it a little breathing room..
Yeah, I mean clearly it's not good that you get your doors blown off, the loss is the punch in the gut, but them not wanting to talk to coaches after said game doesn't raise a red flag to me. That's actually doing Ash a solid.

Many of you are like rats abandoning a ship. I wouldn't want any of you protecting my blind side.
