We have 2 more years of these ridiculous FCS games?

It basically gives you an extra week of summer camp. Since you aren't allowed to scrimmage other teams during the summer, week 1 gives you that opportunity.

Yes, 2 more years.

Just an FYI, when we lose the FCS game, we are replacing it with an away game every year. So I am not sure why you are complaining now.

I don't recall the game last year against Howard being like a "scrimmage". In fact, if you take away one badly thrown pass with a WR wide open near the end zone and another dropped pass that could have been a TD, the last 5 minutes of the game would have been very nerve wrecking.

As long as it's the first game of the year, I'm okay with that. If the NFL can have warm up games why not us?

1. I loved playing Howard. That marching band /halftime show is second to none.

2. I actually didnt know that we still get FCS opponents for the next 2 years. I was under the impression that our contract to play Howard etc was immediately voided upon signing up for the B1G. Feels good to be wrong i guess . Nothing wrong with a tune-up home game.

God I hope you are right and I am wrong. But I looked it up and it said Howard next year, I know whooopeeee they have a good band and Morgan State 2017.

Ummm because you can't give the tickets away. As in no one wants them even for free. So I will end of throwing them in the trash.

Ok so why don't you just go? You would rather that Rutgers has 6 or even 5 home games a year?

Do you want to give me your tickets - I can try to find some youth fb players to give them to.

I'll take them. I live close enough to RU. I'll find some girl who knows nothing about football and take her with me, she'll love the band.

I don't get it, you sound like such a wonderful person to be around

Never said I was wonderful you lovely, luscious person. I have plenty of people who want to go.

It takes the whole weekend to get up there and back. And it's a 3rd world country in NJ at this point. And they don't want to see Norfolk St.

OP hit the nail on the head. Because the NCAA doesn't allow scrimmages, therefore you schedule one...like everyone else.

My only real complaint is that I wish these could be night games.

And I want that 7th game.

I can't even give the tickets away. OK now flame away and tell my why it's OK to have these scrimmages.

Norfolk has been $6-5 on Stubhub for weeks. Washington St and Kansas are $7 and $11. Tickets to three games for $23 (parking passes for all three is the same). Nebraska is $38 and Maryland is $8. If RU isn't doing well by OSU the tickets for that game will be cheap too since not many will pay 100+ for a game that could easily be 40-3 at the half. RU def needs to get the slag out of the schedule

Why complain about something that you know is going away?o_O

Maybe you are just upset they you only have two more years to complain about FCS games?[pfftt]

Washington State and Kansas aren't "slag." They are power 5 ooc opponents. Low demand for those games is purely a function of our fan base, not our schedule. What do you think ticket sales would be like for a Nebraska home game vs. Kansas?

I'm not entirely certain that the future fcs games won't be removed from our schedule. Depends how you interpret Delany's comments st media day.

Rutgers had announced that these were it a long time ago. Like when it was 1st proposed.

Our starting QB has never played a college game so I'm fine with this game. You don't want to go to the game and see if we have a winner.

I'm upset too-- upset that we only have 2 more years of them. Would love to continue it. Until the rest of the country stops playing IAAs, then we should damn well take advantage of it.
