We could have shot so many more, but we stayed within our game, moved the ball around, etc. We didn't necessarily shoot well all night (41%, though take into account we started out so badly), but our ball movement was superb. Once we settled down the game was decided.

I love that we're not dependent on the 3. That's a pet peeve of mine. I hate when teams are. What I love is that we play great defense, get the ball inside the paint, get steals, and block the basketball. This is my kind of team and I'm just...shit. I'm so ecstatic. On reddit they said my enthusiasm was infectious lol.

I found it interesting that Chambers said he figured they (PSU) needed to hit 8 to win and only hit 6. And said that we only hit two....

Maybe we're going to be THAT team that bucks the modern trend of having to rain threes to win....

My feelings exactly. We shoot them within the rhythm of the game, as it should be, and don't force it. How many times could Mulchahy had taken a screen and fired off 3s? Easily could have. He didn't though. He passed the ball up for better opportunities. Man that kid is great, he's going to be a star.

If you look at various advanced stats, this team is like the king of the mid-range game. An allegedly dead aspect of offensive basketball

Great point.
If we're feeling one night or someone has a hot hand, I don't mind shooting a few more. It's great to see the team execute the game plan that Pikiell laid out and not worry about missing out on the sexy shot.

I was wondering about this. I understand that he is a pass first PG, but we will need him to hit those open shots.

Is he considered to be a good shooter, or is it something he need sto work on?

He has a set shot so he is only going to be able to make shots where he is wide open. At this age changing to a jump shot is unlikely.

Jacob got a little cocky after his first 3 point shot bounced in and put up another which was ill advised. As much as I like his enthusiasm, I don’t want him shooting threes.

Always been the case for Rutgers is to control how many they take from beyond the arc as well as the kind they take. We are not a very good shooting team from 3 (lets face it as much as we hoped it would improve it has not), but the quality of shots & timing of them are important.

There was only one last ditch effort 3 by harper as he did a step back (not his type of shot). Usually with Baker in there we have a few more which are low percentage.

Overall the 10 we took were pretty much in the flow of the game and I am okay with that. Yeboah had an off night as he usually makes one or two especially since he had some open looks. Young got the roll on the first & the second nearly went down but overall yes only want him taking it if he is open and in the flow.

I'm sure that Pike would love to shoot more threes. But he knows he doesn't have a good shooting team. This is a defense, rebounding, defense and 2-pt FG team.

Paul must recognize that he is an unconfident shooter, so I’m fine when he chooses to pass on the shot. Caleb had some chances for open looks I'd like to see him take.
