Still very early, but it's looking cool and dry for next Saturday, behind a front that should sweep through late Thursday. Temps looking on the cool side with highs around 50F (normal high/low is 56/36F). It's too early to rule out an instability driven light shower or two, but no major rain is in the cards. Could also be a little windy.

50 isn't cold. Period. It's not frosty, you don't need earmuffs. It's not in the "cold" category. Damn near perfect football weather, actually.

The forecast for West Point has taken a dramatic turn for the better:Clouds yielding to sun,a high of 62.

50 isn't cool...its cold especially since its been uber warm this fall. It would be the coldest day so far this fall.
Sorry, but you may be the only one I know who thinks 50F is cold, in general (most I know think below about 40F is cold - personally, it has to be below freezing for me to think it's cold). And very few would think 50F in mid-November, which is only 5-6F below normal, is cold. If it ends up being windy with wind chills in the 30s, that's another story.

50 in the sun, no wind, is fine. 50 in wind and clouds is a tad different.

And you would be wrong.....50 is cold RELATIVE to the season which has seen highs in the 60s and 70s.....plus it will be in the 40s most if not all of the game...40s are cold

As it stands now, we're likely to have breezy conditions (~15 mph winds) with partly sunny skies. It'll be chilly for most and cold for bac, lol. Wind chills are likely to drop into the 30s after dark, i.e., in the 2nd half of the game. That'll be cold for most. Winds are really hard to predict, though, so let's see how this plays out - still 6 days out and much can change. At least at this point no showers are forecast, but let's wait a couple of days before assuming that will be the case.

SATURDAY...A SECONDARY COLD FRONTAL PASSAGE IS POSSIBLE (MID LEVEL
SHORT WAVE TROUGH ALOFT). MIXED CLOUDS AND SUN...BREEZY AND COLDER.
MAX TEMPS ABOUT 10 DEGREES COLDER THAN FRIDAY. POSSIBLY A FLURRY
IN THE POCONOS LATE SAT OR SAT NIGHT? NORTHWEST WINDS GUSTY AROUND
25 MPH. CONFIDENCE: AVERAGE.

It's actually going to be around 68 degrees when I'm watching my tv on my couch on Saturday.

No real change in the forecast. Looking like partly cloudy to maybe mostly cloudy skies with high temps in the low 50s and dry (with a very outside shot at a sprinkle, i.e., barely even nuisance level precip). Forecast for it to be breezy is looking more likely, with 15-20 mph winds and higher gusts possible, although, again, winds are notoriously hard to predict accurately this far out. It would obviously feel colder than the low 50s with moderate winds and cloudy skies, but we're still nowhere near tundra conditions.

SATURDAY...A SECONDARY COLD FRONTAL PASSAGE AND COLDER ALOFT SO
MUCH MORE CLOUDINESS AND NOT IMPOSSIBLE FOR A SPRINKLE, ESPECIALLY
HIGHER TERRAIN. THAT MIGHT BE FLURRIES IN THE POCONOS SATURDAY
NIGHT. GUSTY WEST TO NORTHWEST WINDS 30 MPH. NORMAL OR SLIGHTLY
BELOW TEMPS. CONFIDENCE: ABOVE AVERAGE.

Still no real change in the forecast. Should have a high near 50F during the afternoon, dropping into the mid to upper 40s for most of the game and it should be partly cloudy and dry. The wild card is the wind. Current forecast is for winds of 15-20 mph and gusts to 30 mph for the tailgates, which will definitely make it feel a bit cooler, but the winds are expected to decrease a bit for the game and will likely be down to 10-15 mph (with minimal gusts) by the 2nd half. Still pretty good mid-November weather for a football game, IMO.

I often spend a good part of the winter in Florida and still wouldn't consider 50, or even 40, cold. Anything over 35 and I'll be wearing shorts. Chit mon, I thought we grew them tougher than that in Hillsborough. [laughing]

He's just getting ready for 8-feet of snow this year. Can't help himself with the "cold" stuff. [thumb2]

Highs:

Fri - 56
Sunday - 57
Monday - 63

...and all without rain as well. We get the coldest day of the stretch.:thumbsdown:

Looks like they've dropped the expected temps for Saturday a few degrees. The high is now projected in the upper 40's.

I don't know where Nuts gets his forecast from but its not going to be mid 50s...today we saw mid 50s and with wind and clouds it got chilly later in the day. Tomorrow we wont be above 50..it will be cold..its going to be the coldest day so far off the fall season. Upper 40s for highs with wind chills in the 30s with 25-30mph gusts and temps falling through the 40s during the game

where did I say mid 50s? And my last post I clearly point out that we are going to have the coldest day of the week. I didn't include Saturday. I listed the days around it lol!

No change in this forecast at all - been a solid forecast this week from the NWS. Just hope the winds die down in time for the game and maybe even late in the tailgates. At least we should have a fair amount of sunshine.

I just got in from a HS football game and froze ! It felt 15 degrees colder than the report 47 at game time. Wind was whipping !

It'll likely be the lowest high temp of the season, so far, which isn't unusual in fall, when every day is, on average colder than the previous day. the wind will make it feel colder, especially during the tailgates, but winds should be down into the ~15 mph range by the end of the game. However, there have been many low temps colder than the upper 30s we'll see tomorrow - had three days in a row in mid/late October with low temps in the upper 20s.

The MILF's at the Hillsborough Deli I'm sure will be wearing their braless sweaters when I go get my mac salad tomorrow morning. Hope it's a bit chilly.:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I'm bring different layers for 11am -2, 2-5 (sunset), then 5-8 pm. I couldn't believe how cold I got tonight for walking over to see the 2nd half of the local HS game. And it looked like everyone was freezing. Forget the temp forecast, what is the WIND forecast?

Forecast was spot on. A beautiful day for tailgating, with the sunshine largely cancelling out the wind - our crew didn't seem to be too cold. Winds died down throughout the game, along with the temps dropping. Was chilly, but wouldn't say it was cold.

In case anyone cares, peeking ahead, it's looking cool for next Saturday, with highs around 50F. Official forecast is for it to be dry, but the NWS discussion indicates that a few showers are possible, as there is some discrepancy in the major models at this time. Way too early to call.

It was cold during the game not cool or chilly
Wow, I'd hate to see how you guys handle actual cold weather - I'm guessing you never have to get out of the truck when you're snowplowing. It was not cold, it was chilly at most. Most of our crew thought it was chilly - a few of the ladies thought it was cold. You do the math.

It was chilly. I was in a sweatshirt and knit cap and that was fine for the evening. Cold is gloves/scarf/muffs "I can see my breath and my beer is freezing" weather.
