Week 4: Rutgers / Virginia Tech -- Links, Tweets, Stories, etc.

That was very good reading
Some really nice, crisp analysis in that article. Thanks for posting, OP:

63% of over 1200 votes has Rutgers winning.

"Ciarrocca has been around a long time and has seen just about every look a defensive coordinator can throw at him. He won’t ask his players to do things they aren’t capable of. I would expect a deliberate, patient, run-first approach from Rutgers on Saturday."

"Kaliakmanis isn’t the runner that Wimsatt was, but he’s a better passer. He might not be a huge upgrade, but he’s an upgrade nonetheless."

"The run defense stats posted in the article for VT are dreadful. Ranked 113/134 or higher in 7 categories.
On paper, this is one of the worst matchups of the season for Virginia Tech. It’s the unstoppable force vs. the moveable object
."

"I respect Rutgers. It is pretty much what Virginia Tech was in the middle-to-late 90s, but without the Jim Druckenmiller or Michael Vick at quarterback, and without an Antonio Freeman, Bryan Still or Andre Davis at wide receiver. Schiano has built the mentality that I want at Virginia Tech, and I’ll admit that I’m more than a little bit jealous."

Hard to believe we ever had a passing O like that against a team with a pulse. It’s like watching a different sport. We’ve been living in the passing doldrums for 10 freakin years now.

That game was replayed today on the B1G network. The teams under Graber had some very good offensive skill guys. The defenses were not good and no real depth. A lot of players could not stay academically eligible in those days. No academic support and no infrastructure for a major college program.

It’s a good article - doesn’t account for Bailey though. Writer didn’t acknowledge him unless I missed that.

This consolidation is good.. but it really should be one post like this..

-These 2 stats bode well for Rutgers football ahead of trip to Virginia Tech - NJ.com

-Game Preview: Virginia Tech Faces Physical Rutgers Running Game - Tech Sideline

etc.. it takes a little while longer than just dropping a link into a thread.. but he is typing the Thread Titles now so it is not that much more work.. just needs to open 2 browser windows.. suppose if a smart phone is being used it is clumsy... but title and source for link should be enough for someone to tell if they want to click it or not. And they wouldn't be in teh consolidated news thread if they don't want the news..

I suppose the dropped links into one post that takes awhile to build would be okay.. though they take more room. It would save time.. still.. you need two tabs/windows to surf and drop links...

Here's my contribution to news.. yes.. just dropping a youtube link...
