Looked at the Field of 68 wondering where Brackets had us before Indiana and he had us way outside the field and not even next 4 out but next 8 out. In the meantime had 10 Big 10!teams in ahead of us.
Just looked today and wow how 1 game can swing him as he has us as the 1st Four Byes and all of a sudden a 10 seed playing Va. Tech.
Just ridiculous to do this now , this early , but someone pays him ESPN to keep him relevant.

Lunardi is a jackass. Plain and simple.

And yet you still read it so mission accomplished. While I agree it is too early to br accurate, what else are we going to talk about?
Totally agree. I was curious as we got 7 votes in the Coach’s poll this week and I know we have been missing Paul and Caleb or just getting them back so the national media was not paying attention to us , although Seth Greenberg was still touting our horn. The gall to put 10 Big 10 teams ahead of us and not have us sniffing the tourney was frankly insulting in light of the injuries and our overall play . Unfortunately , ESPN is highly relevant in college basketball , so getting their guys and their bracket guy on board , will help our national perception . As does laying a beat down on the # 10 ranked team.

Stop looking at it..its way too early, bracketology is meaningless until about Feb 1, but watch in January they are going to rev up bracket talk every day but its still too soon

Before Saturday Rutgers didnt have a ncaa resume

Bracketology this time of year is like baseball batting averages in the first month. You can go from hitting .400 to hitting .250 in the blink of an eye

I usually update mine weekly or once every other week because I agree that its still way too early, but its fun to look at and go through the process once the NET rankings are released. Daily updates will start in early to mid February.

I've currently got Rutgers as a 7 seed playing 10 Xavier, winner plays 2 Kansas.

Putting specific seeds next to specific teams in the dumbest thing you can do in early December.

Now if you want to have a conversation about how many bids is attainable for each league... that's a productive thing to do. For instance it looks like the A-10 might be a one or two bid league. How do Gonzaga's struggles affect the WCC? Which other potential multi bid leagues are out there amongst the mid majors? That is all worthwhile discussion. Saying "right now Northwestern is first four four out!" is about as pointless of "content" as one can produce.

I don't disagree with you completely, but in your example of Northwestern for instance, it gives one more reason for those fans to get excited, if across the board their name is showing up on early season bubbles and they haven't been in the tournament in a while. I don't see the harm in doing it as long as you recognize the fact that it is way too early and things are going to change later as the season moves forward.

I absolutely think it is stupid for anyone to get angry about a seed being "wrong" at this stage. So much basketball left, buckle up and hang on for the ride. Go RU!

You're taking this too seriously. No one thinks these will be the seeds and matchups. It's just for fun
Exactly!

If anyone wants to check out my first bracket of the year, @njbracketology on twitter

Here's a bracketology thing for you: Texas Tech

Their non-conference schedule suuuuuuuuuuucks. They've lost to Creighton and Ohio State and are 5-0 in their other games, all of whom are #124 or worse. Their next five games are all against teams rated #242 or worse. They play at LSU in the Big 12/SEC jawn.

If they lose to LSU and go 7-11 in the Big 12 I don't know how you put them in. Every other team in that league I think has done enough to get in at 7-11 but not them.

I have them as my first team out. 100% agree for now, but like teams in the Big Ten, they have the opportunity to pick up many quality wins in conference.

The OP does not seem to be having very much fun with it.
I called it a joke so we can all get a laugh out of it. But really found it insulting of Joey Brackets considering our history the last 3 years and putting 10 Big 10 teams ahead of us. That I found funny and clearly will be proven wrong.

the problem with early bracketology and doing it every week is I find sometimes a bias develops where instead of wild swings with small sample of games, bracketologists fall in love with recency that tends to cloud their projected fields when you get to late January and early February when things start become a bit more clear.

This I completely agree with

Looks like you did pretty well last year.

67/68 right. 46 exact seeds. 20 off by 1 👏
Thanks! 2021 was my first year and it didn't go nearly as well, but I learned a lot. Looking forward to working on 2023!

(Thank you for the follow on Twitter as well!)

No. In the meantime, that's an excellent coach that Towson has. Surprised that another
outfit hasn't plucked him
No? Um - hypothetically, if they won out they would be 100% a lock at 30-1 or whatever it would be. Their next game is @Clemson. They have 2 games vs. Charleston who beat VTech and is undefeated other than a lost at UNC. Winning out their schedule would be a massive undertaking though and that’s the point of why hypotheticals are worthless this early.

That was after Indiana. The one before was hideous.
Oh - I see. I guess it’s because of how few games were played? Having that loss to Temple and no wins over teams in the field would’ve had us pretty far off the bubble before indiana, no?

No. We blew out everyone else on the schedule except UMASS Lowell and played without Paul and Caleb against Temple. We also controlled most of that Miami road game until we blew it. My big beef was putting 10 BiG teams in and not having us as 1 of the 10. Want to predict our finish in the BiG 10? It likely will be near the top not the bottom.

Bac,

How about Denver while you are at it.

They have a non conference home and home with Sacramento State. There are 370 D1 teams do you need to play a school twice?

In conference they play 8 games against a school with Dakota in their name.

I am thinking a 2 loss Denver team is in with a loss in the final. Agree bac? 😃

I get it - and I agree. But early brackets are usually about what you’ve done so far. We still had 2 losses and no wins over potential at large teams at that point. I’m guessing the other 10 teams had better resumes at that point. Beating Indiana changed this.

Looks like you jinxed em both. Towson falls to Clemson. Ha. Second loss to Sacramento takes Denver off the board.
The other day I was surfing through espn+ and saw Grand Canyon playing at home and check in on it. Supposedly they have this great home court advantage. The lopes (as they call them) didn't impress.

Well, I said there was worthwhile bracketology discussion to be had so I went ahead and had it:
