ESPN projects 8 B1G teams to make the tournament. With losses in Q3 and Q4, I can't see how RU could finish 8th in the B1G regular season and make the tournament. I think 5th, 6th or even 7th place is a must to be considered. Over the past three seasons (since the B1G went to a 20 game schedule), the 5th place team has had 13-7 or 12-8 record. That might be doable if the team can start winning on the road. 6th and 7th places had .500 records the past three seasons - 10-10.
The schedule remains favorable for the next seven games - @PSU,
@md, Iowa & @Minn, MD, @NEB,
@NU. All four teams have losing records within the conference. Could RU possibly be 8-3 after this stretch? It's doable.
Following that is an eight game gauntlet, then one last home game against PSU. Maybe 3-6 in those final 9 games.
Maybe I'm drinking the kool-aid, but we might sneak in at 17-13, 11-9. Maybe win one or two in the tourney to cement our chances.
