I did not hear his name get mentioned once.
I don't know if he is injured or that teams know how to neutralize him.
I was looking for him to step up and be a force this year, but thus far he is non-existent on the field.
I hardly see him making plays.

I was wondering the same thing. I thought I saw him on the field once or twice.

Is he injured? Did Penn State totally neutralize him? Or was last year an abberation and he's really not that good? I thought he played well against some of the better teams we played last year, so I don't think he was just beating up the weak teams.

do you guys actually watch games and have some understanding of what goes on??

Turay last year ( and also mostly the way he is used this year) comes in to the game in mostly passing situations, and has made his big plays in passing situations. Had not really distinguished himself on running plays. Did you not see the game last night? PSU ran it down our throat, barely had any passing situations, ran the ball in many typical passing situations. . Put two and two together. Turay was not in the game for many plays... and when he was, there were not a lot of passing plays, and when they did pass, they called short pass plays to minimize the pass rush.

Turay is what he is. Right now he is a specialist and his effectiveness is severely impacted by the absence of Hamilton. It's hard to make an impact as an outside thre at with what RU had going on with its line right now.

Plus, watch the game last night. 3 step drops, pounding the run - takes Turay right out of the game.

But that can't be right because the PSU staff can't coach lol.

Some of you guys have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. It's almost comical and borderline insanity at the assumptions.

Turay is and has been more myth and hope than actual performance.

It amazed me how many here assumed he was already a star performer or announced that the defense, which has set records the last 2 years for yards allowed on the ground and in the air, was good.

What we have seen this year is very similar to what we saw for the last 2 years.

So what was his excuse against WSU? They passed 70 times and he had 0 sacks, he may have had 1 hurry.

He also played plenty of downs against PSU.

The entire D line has been playing poorly this year. I don't hear a word about Joseph, Mera has not made a stand out play all year. He is a 24yr old 5th year senior and he does not make any impacting plays.

Is he still going to the NFL after the season?

Once again... do you not watch the games?? They passed many times yes... but he was not in the game for many of those plays... whether it was due to injury or coaches decision. And when he was in there.. .again... did you not see the type of passes that were thrown.? Many were of the quick release variety , which gives little time for a pass rush to develop.

And yes he was in there against PSU,.,, but I've been watching football for 50+ years and havent seen a sack yet on a running play .

Spot on.

Tuary looks like a guy who has played 3 years of organized football.

He's a physical specimen who has absolutely NO. IDEA. WHAT. HE'S. DOING. OUT. THERE.

I saw a mock draft that had him in the first round. I nearly choked to death.

He would get abused in the NFL.

He needs snaps. Hundreds/thousands of them.

Hopefully he puts it together. We sure as shit need him.

Turay is very active when he's in but without a DL that can push down the middle, he hasn't had the angle to the QB. In other words, we need Hamilton back

No sack on a running play????

The kid has been unfairly hyped to a level beyond he actual football playing ability at this time. He a victim of expectations. He will continue to struggle particularly against the better teams in the conference. He probably would have benefitted from a RS year but I don't see that at this point.

He redshirted 2 years ago.

He had six sacks last year, expectations were not out of line for a 3rd year player who has gotten bigger and stronger from a six sack season last year.

My bad on the RS year. Unique physical capabilities but playing FB in Newark HS is not the best place to hone your talents. He may not be focused enough on improving his technique.
