I thought he was getting some decent playing time last year and now he's not even on the 2 deep depth chart. Is he hurt or the guys ahead of him that much better.

Sorry, didn't realize the depth chart was on top of this page. Nevertheless I don't think he showed up on the box score for catching any passes last week. Are the number 2's that far ahead of him on the depth chart?

Also, remember last week RU ran a very vanilla offense. Expect to see a lot more in the game tomorrow.

He was hurt last week, and still is. --> "Wide receiver John Tsimis has been upgraded from out to doubtful, which signals an improvement in his condition." via nj.com (hey, at least the injury report is impartial)

He would help, but would not be pushing for a starting spot.

Why do you say? He would be battling for a starting spot in the slot. Our staff doesn't trust many guys more than they do Tsimis. Has great hands, runs great routes and has speed.

Over Grant, who is the clear #1 choice for pure slot? I do not think so.

Agudosi backs up Caroo's spot.

Patton is the clear #2 WR, the other starter.

Grant is the clear #1 slot receiver, and the clear #3 WR.

Tsimis and Agudosi do not compete, since they play totally different roles - though if healthy, Tsimis could see playing time over Agudosi, in certain schemes and match-ups, I suppose. But Tsimis would clearly be slotted after Patton and Grant.

So Tsimis and Matthews compete for the next WR spot, after the other 4 WR's.

It is more accurate to say Tsimis competes for playing time, not for a starting spot.

Geeze man that's a bit of an uncalled for comment. You're better than that ruready07!

btw - sorry, I like Tsimis for what he offers, as a backup, but he isn't a P5 1st string guy at WR (slot, or anywhere else...). That doesn't mean the staff doesn't like him, or trust him, just that he's not the guy who's gonna get you there.

On a third down pass, after Caroo he is the one I would throw it to. This is based on last year but hopefully the reports that some of the other receivers have improved their hands is true.

Tsimis was ahead of Grant in the slot last year. Not sure Grant is a slam dunk when he gets back.

Tsimis has better hands and is a good position receiver. Grant is xplosive and makes things happen. Glad to have them both.

Hopefully he returns soon. With all the dismissals we can use all the firepower we can muster.

Also, whether he starts or just comes in to haul in the yards to keep a drive going or TD: is a BIG Tsimis!
