“He’s where he is right now because of his work ethic,” wide receiver Andre Patton said.
“He’s a real good guy,” Patton said. “He does what he’s supposed to do on and off the field. I really respect him as a person.”
“He's somebody back there that you know is going to grind for you,” defensive end Julian Pinnix-Odrick said.
“He’s an enthusiastic, hard-working young man that’s finally gotten his opportunity,” Verska (former high school coach) said of Rescigno. “I hope he does well, and I think he will."
“He’s a very likable guy and I think the guys will rally around him,” Verska added. “He’s got that kind of aura about him.”
He’s waited his turn and now he’s going to get his opportunity,” Verska said. “Some other kids would have said, ‘I’m getting out of here.’ He’s not afraid to compete. I think he’s been very loyal to Rutgers. He’s the kind of kid that wants to be there.”
“One thing I really like about him as a person is he's like a perfectionist,” reserve offensive lineman Marcus Applefield said. “When it comes to his room, when he cuts hair, when he does anything, he’s a perfectionist. … You walk into his room and everything is neat. His bed is always made. That translates on the field, which is awesome (for a) quarterback and that’s why I let him cut my hair.”
“What I like about his personality is he walks around with a smile on his face every day,” Ash said. “He's fun to talk to. He has a little energy to him.”
“I've never been to his room so I don't know if it's neat or dirty,” Ash said with a smile Thursday, “but I know that he takes really good notes in meetings. (He) studies his notes and always wants to be on top of what he's doing. If he does those sorts of things here in meetings and practice, typically that spills over to the rest of his life.”
“He’s been a good kid in the program,” left guard Dorian Miller said. “He never gave anybody any issues. He’s done the right thing so I’m excited for him.”
“He’s actually a big music fan,” Miller said. “With him being from Michigan, he’s a super big Eminem fan, like he’ll debate you until the death (about Eminem’s merits).”
