For Saturday?
For Saturday?
I wish he really put on the weight. I don't know if he thinks he going to the NFL but he needs at least 15-25 pounds added, that for the DE position that he never played. We had 2 good or great DT at about 285 pounds and that wasn't enough.
I realize Flood is trying to "play the game" with our opponents but, com'on, our opponents aren't stupid, lol! Anyway, people thinking DH is going to RS, and stick around for another year, uhm, I wouldn't go setting my heart on it. He does graduate this year, he can go to the NFL, so, why wouldn't he (IF his "issues" are no longer a problem...)??
What is your source on this? Just curious. He's not playing. And most likely for the rest of the season. There's really no point in burning a year of eligibility when he can bulk this season and come back 100% for next year.
Let's all move on from the Hamilton topic
How much do people think he weights? The NFL appears to want at least 300 pound DT and then add 10-20 more pounds while in the NFL. I always see listing of about 265 pounds even though he should be able to add 10-15 pounds easily. I can add 10 pounds in a week if I wanted.Actually, he should've red-shirted his first year. He always thought of himself as a DT, even tho he was in a DE body. Another year of availability would do him wonders in the NFL draft. He's not ready to crack the first 2 rounds in the draft. i'd love to see him next year as an incredible DT. Another year to bulkup is all he needs

I think we have to accept what D. Hamilton is. He is a great college player, great teammate and I am proud to have him on Rutgers.
I just not as easy as people think to bulk up. He has been trying to do it for three years now, and has maybe added 5-7 pounds a year. He does not have the frame others have to bulk up. He does not have mammoth legs. He is trying to Bulk up, but saying all he needs is one more year may be underestimating the degree of difficulty for him.
He is a great player and tough kid, and I think there will be a role for him in the Pros. But if you're thinking he will bulking up to a 295 pound player, I just don't see it happening.
He came in at 240 pounds as a freshman. He weighs a legit 275 RIGHT NOW. Maybe even 280 pounds since he didn't lose anything over the summer workouts and fall camp.
That's a 35 pound jump.
If he has another year of offseason to get bigger, there is no reason he can't put on another 10-12 pounds, and play next year, either for RU as a 5th year senior, or as an NFL rookie, as a 285 pounder.
By his second or third year of NFL, he could be a 295-300 pounder.
