So you're saying we're a bad team? Forget why, that's what you're saying." When was the last time RU was rated #89 in sagarin??"
I dont know.. but when was the last time the best RU offensive player as well as the best RU Defensive player were lost at the start of the season? Not to mention the loss of a good percentage of the top defensive backfield players.
Possibly a slight correlation there?
Maybe also has a little something to do with the replacement of 3 OL starters and a 4 yr starting QB. with young inexperienced players. Just maybe
Weren't we on the 110s?Hard to believe that we are 6 spots behind Maryland, but at least we are one spot ahead of that team from Arkansas. Arkansas St. that is.
This ranking harkens back to the Shea era and very early in Greg Schiano days at RU.
GoodOl is right...let the season play out before these Rankings have meaning.
Yeah, was wondering if OP forgot that we've had a couple sub .500 seasons in the not so distant past.To answer the OP, RU finished the season rated lower twice in the past 5 years
2013...#100
2010...#90

2013.Also ranked #89 in the composite of 27 different sites.http://masseyratings.com/cf/compare.htm
Thats going to be the case for almost any computer rating, espeically. if like the old sagarin (by mandate of the BCS - now that there is no BCS this is no longer the case) he doesnt account for score margin.Should RU get a huge Sagarin bump in the next few weeks simply by playing Michigan State and Ohio State in two of the next three weeks?
One reason I've never liked Sagarin is because you can usually find a few SEC teams that have done nothing but lost to top 10 teams ranked higher than teams that have actually won their games.

Who was the coach in 2013 and in charge of the offense in 2010....
Is there a pattern here of some kind?
Yes, there is...
2010 Legrand injury that sent team in tailspin.
2013 All the off field nonsense, defections, and other stuff swirling around the program and Rutgers.
I know that's not the answer you wanted but it's not my job to help you with your agenda.
It's a message board...we're 2-2 and have beaten one of the worst FCS teams in the nation and one the worst p5, possibly the worst FBS team, in the nation, hence, I can be as positive as I want - AT THE GAME - but here we get to air things out. All good.
In their opener, I could very easily argue that Michigan was horrendous and much worse than where we are now. .
Michigan was scoreless until the last minute of the third quarter, in that game. Ruddock was awful in that game and their defense was all out of sorts. Heck, Utah didn't look impressive either but was definitely consistent."Horrendous"?? Really? Losing 24-17 to a team that is now 4-0 and ranked 5th the nation? I'd love to hear this argument Beantown!

But, my point still stands that, even with big flaws to start the season, Harbaugh has done a very good job getting the most out of his QB as well as the rest of that team. What we would all like to see, and what we all hope is still possible, is that this coaching staff can get as much out of this team as possible.
