Martini ? Nope. A bust thus far. Very inconsistent
Hayes? Sadly fading.
Acuff? Maybe. If he gets back in game shape.

To me? It’s GOT to be JWill. He’s the guy that brings it on both ends, and has shown the acumen to complement DylAce..If he didn’t foul out I’m certain we would have beat Bama.

In closing… Big E is IMPROVING and outplayed Cliff tonight!

Absolutely JWill. His foul trouble really hurt - maybe we win with him on the floor. And his shot chances should be easier with Dylan/Ace taking so much attention defensively. Also like seeing Ogbole improving.

Williams is obviously our third best player. To me, the real question is where are the rebounds going to come from? Because unless this team starts rebounding and finding loose balls, it's a bubble team at best.

In this game Ace had 2 DREB. Ill bet watching the tape he could/should have had 6. 2 nights in a row down the stretch we cant get a reb of a ft miss!?!

For Big E, he had a great game. For a guy with such limitations in his game, he gave RU way more than expected tonight. He was great and Cliff was basically a zero tonight.

Throw in 36 ppg for ace and Dylan…that’s 70 for 6 plates

Other three or four get 12

Williams has the ability to go into double figures as does Acuff when he is healed. Hayes and Martini are best used as zone breakers.
 
J Will and/or Acuff
Both are recovering from injuries - TA worse obviously
I'd rather Acuff be the other guy though and J Will go more into lockdown mode defensively, almost in a Caleb role

JMike disrupts the offense with his out of control play.
Wasted possessions is the norm when he handles the ball.
Really has to have his minutes cut

Based on his scoring last year that would make sense

But the kid can barely move

does anyone have a knowledgeable perspective on whether Acuffs utter lack of mobility is likely to be temporary or not ?

Some types of injuries can really change athletes.

Yes,Williams by default but he isn't a 3 point shooter.

Agree, he's either still coming back from the injury or just had a lot of old man game in him. We need someone to start taking and making 3's consistently. Not a ton, but a couple per night. I don't expect JWill to be that guy, so it needs to be Acuff. I do think he probably had no legs last night after basically playing double his season minutes the night before. He's still trying to get in shape. We need to shift some of Derkack shots to Tyson.

At some point when defenses decide to go all out and stop (or try to stop) Dylan others will need to step up.

If we are going to have the ball in Ace or Dylan's hands 75% of the time the other 3 guys on the court will be needed to do other things and not screw up.

The offensive issues I saw were certain players not passing to Ace or forcing things.

Until defenses completely sell out to stop Dylan we don't want others to do anything on offense but pass to them and make open 3s.

Now yes I am very worried about Dylan at some point hitting a wall hard, but he will get through it.

Which is part of the reason I'd like him in the Caleb shutdown role as opposed to looking to score like last year

In a game where we had an elite offensive output with our stars leading the way on offense why are we talking about others scoring more....do we expect to score 100?

probably......I see it is an Ace season. It's up to Ace.

The best example....Ace makes a mistake and overplays mustache guy and mustache guy goes backdoor, but Ace's long movement causes the guard to travel.

I want Ace making mistakes on defense, but be active.
 
Near term, JWill. Medium term, JWill/Acuff. Late season, JWill/Acuff/Sommerville.

Acuff is clearly still not healthy, but as his health improves, I expect him to round into form. Sommerville needs to put a lot of things together, but there's a high ceiling for him if he can do it by the end of the year.

I thought Dylan kept the ball a little more than ideal last night, need him creating for others as well as getting his. Our success depends on him. He was so successful last night I get him just continuing to go to the rim. Ace can get his own shots, most of the others can't.

In theory.....YES. In application.......if the others on the floor are Ogbole,JMike and Dercack MAYBE NOT

Agree, there are appropriate times to get others involved. Its not easy either, he cause we have so many non shooters, its easy for guys covering shooters to stay home on the shooter since other defenders can pack the paint.

Bingo…..probably JWill the most, but others will take the role other games such as Derkack, Hayes, Acuff part in the year when he gets going, Somerville some games, maybe Martini once or twice. It will be divided up amongst the team with JWill likely being the third guy more games than the others.
