Who is the new RB coach?

certainly curious as to why it is taking a bit longer ... is it a Clemson guy? Alabama guy?
or an NFL guy still in the playoffs? or something entirely different?

It was mentioned that Kuhr is capable of becoming the RB coach and someone else could be the WR coach.

Also, has an Associate Head Coach been named?
Is that a carrot that will be dangled to the final coach hired?

Do we know what Brian is doing for a living at this time? Would he take a pay cut to join us? Is he interested?

I know someone that is pretty close with him (so take that for what its worth).

But, I'm told he is one season from an NFL pension and trying to catch on to a team. I can't blame him one bit, and I'm sure everyone here hopes he gets that chance. Would love to see him come back when his playing days our through; he will forever be a "Loyal Son."

Leonard was in the league 8 years, I would think he'd eligible for pension already.

I hope you're right. The guy I talked to, his daughter and Leonard's wife are good friends, so they see each other quite a bit.

But, I'd love to be wrong here. It would seem eight years is a pretty solid NFL career.

Judged entirely on his own and giving credit for all that he represents to the extended Rutgers community, he is a truly splendid individual - a truly fantastic articulate, principled, knowledgeable guy.
But -
1 - does he want to coach? and if yes, is he ready to do it now?
2 - since he has never 'coached' in a formal capacity - does he have the talent for it? is he willing to be a GA for a year to get the mundane behind-the-scenes stuff under his belt? (subjective pure opinion here - yes, he would - if BL was ready to take it on & he sized up the situation & felt that earning his stripes by being a GA was the right way to go - he would do it in a heart beat )
3 - does he have the proper "alignment" that Ash is seeking - again a guess
- yes - as far as attitude & principles
- TBD - as far as systems, game plans, coaching technique & the specific playing technique that Ash wants taught.

Ultimately - could easily see BL on the staff - just wonder if this is the right time for him - & the right time for Ash.

Could be different levels, 8 years is way above the average career length. I am sure he is qualified for something.

I know a couple NFL guys that draw upon the pension. Old Clients father was a rep to the union. You only need 3 qualified seasons in the league. Active roster. Any catastrophic injury on the field that leads to career ending injury automatically qualifies for pension. This is why the concussion issue is such a hot button topic right now..

Someone I know! Someone I know! A former RU player!!

Oh boy. Some of u still aren't giving up huh

Who Knows - This may be the polite quasi-generic response that he offers up when he gets questions about 'what's next?' no doubt he gets questions all the time - some from people who are just interested - and a lot from people who have 'deals' for him ... things they think he should be considering. BL seems like a guy who would likely have a sort of go-to response that leaves him with a polite diplomatic 'out' - - so instead of having to say "No, I don't want to be partners in a car dealership, restaurant, bowling alley, insurance agency " - or what ever - he can say that he is not yet done with the NFL ... even if he is already mulling over what to do next.

In response to a question, I felt I had relevant information, I even DISCOUNTED it as hearsay.
Sorry to have wasted your time.

I found this online. Maybe he wants one more year so that he can receive another $470 a month.

The NFL is an organization that rewards the number of active seasons in both their pension and 401k plan. The pension, which players become eligible for at age 55, gives them $470/month for each season they played. A player with 4 seasons would get $1880/month starting at age 55, for the rest of their life.
