As we all have made up our minds based on our own expertise:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: and the view points of some rating star system that now is 2-3 year old for both these players, so maturation over the past few years make any star ranking irrelevant now! And using recent stats have shown that both perform at the same level.
Oh, but Rettig has an inch in height and a stronger arm??? So what! It will be the intangibles that determines who the #1 at QB will be. There is only one stat that Flood and company (and us fans) should look at this stage in Rutgers development in the B10. Market share! Picking Chris will boost local TV viewers as he is a local Long Island kid and an extra bonus he went to Holy Trinity, a private school also on L I. And with any success he will boost BTN ratings on Long Island much more than a LA, CA player will draw due largely to time difference and media apathy out west. Chris will get local ink, both good and bad, by Long Island and NYC and even Jersey papers. And a strong following from both his home town Glen Head, Long Island and a collection of Holy Trinity students and their families in Hicksville, NY and the surrounding communities. I do understand this is a minor edge to pick our starting QB but reading all the opinions/viewpoint and NONE really separate these two, so use market share and building a strong Metro following which will increase our future revenue stream and boost Rutgers in our prime recruiting area! Face it Rutgers has any success in Football and our starting QB will get a strong share of ink and media coverage. It will be a win, win, win, situation.
More respect,
more revenue down the road,
larger market share,
and a great selling point for recruits i.e. metro media exposure.
