if ash is smart, he will add at least 4 grad transfers to Rutgers roster because the grad transfer market is better than ever. With more and more kids looking to grad transfer PLUS the NCAA putting a 25 scholly limit in place it means programs who would oversign to fit grad transfers cant, upper echeleon programs who fill their 25 slots with 4-year 4/5*’s dont have room. That means theres a lot of quality players who have nothing but football and business in mind are left looking for spots to spend their final season. Here’s a couple of grad transfers from this prior year.
QB- Brady White, grad transfer from Arizona State to Memphis. White played in just 2 games at ASU, grad transferred to memphis and had a stellar year. His stat line was 246/392 for a 63% completion percentage, 3300 yards, 26 TD/ 9 INT.
QB- James Morgan, grad transfer from Bowling Green to Florida International. Got benched at bowling green in 2017 after their coaching staff proved to be a disaster. Lands at FIU and goes onto 213/326 for a 65% completion %, 2700 yards, 26 TD and 9 INT.
QB- KJ Carta Samuel, grad transfer from Washington to Colorado State. 193-298 for a 61% completion %, 2300 yards, 19 TD/ 9 INT.
I start with these three because these are the types of kids we’d be able to land easily. Then you have more higher sought after grad transfer qb’s like Gardner Mishew who was a heisman candidate at Washington State and at least had them in the final 4 conversation. Then Joey Burrow who goes on from ohio state and has LSU in the top 10.
Ash HAS TO land a quality grad transfer qb there will be a bunch available and only a few spots they can go to and probably none more guaranteed for them to start than RU.
Then you look at WR grad transfers.
On the lower end kids that we could land without even trying you have kids like
Gatlin Casey who went from Lehigh to Middle Tenn State and had 40 catches for about 460 yards and 3 tds.
Drake Harris who went from Michigan to Western Michigan and had 27 catches 260 yards 1 TD.
Then theres others that have more suitors who we could battle for/probably land like
Maurice Ways who went from Mich to Cal and had 30 receptions and 350 yards and 3tds
Jalen Greene who went from USC to Utah State and had 45 receptions 700 yards and 6 TDs.
Tons of dbs too but we’ll leave it at these for now
