Wiley & Cekovsky

It surely could be a win for Rutgers. But FYI, neither of those guys has played in weeks and the team has been winning without them...

neither of them played in wins vs Michigan, Illinois, Iowa, Indiana. they are not significant players.

The game we're going to need Cekovsky in is vs. Caleb Swanigan and Purdue. Got to throw big bodies at that guy...

I believe Trimble is also sick. This game might be close - if I recall the games last year were close until the last minute or two and Rutgers was terrible

Rutgers' league record isn't pretty but Turgeon is still wary
http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/...but-turgeon-is-still-wary-20170123-story.html

Turgeon: “This year, they’re a basketball team. They’ve won 12 games, that’s a lot of games. …They’re probably thinking NCAA tournament. They’ve got our attention. They’re a good team.”

They’re probably thinking NCAA tournament. [roll]

imagine...just imagine..like close your eyes and imagine.

We upset Maryland tonight 13-8
We upset Wisconsin at MSG 14-8

We then have a game at home vs. IOWA to get to 15-8.

Still not even in a realistic conversation, but the record itself has a NCAA look to it. You know the board would be talking NIT!

If Tremble, Wiley, and Cekovsky never see the court.... their roster looks like:

Conference stats:
Cowan - (Fr) G - 12.8 pts, 4.2 rbs, 33 min
Huerter - (Fr) G - 9.7 pts, 4.7 rbs, 30 min
Jackson - (Fr) F - 9.3 pts, 6.0 rbs, 27 min
Dodd - (Sr) F - 7.8 pts, 3.8 rbs, 19 min
Brantley - (Jr) G - 7.0 pts, 2.8 rbs, 16 min
Nickens - (Jr) G/F - 4.3 pts, 1.0 rbs, 11 min
Gill - (Sr) F - 3.8 pts, 2.7 rbs, 17 min
Bender - (So) F -3.3 pts, 4.0 rbs, 15 min

With Tremble's 32 min spread out across the team. The only guys they have playing the 1/2 spots are Cowan, Huerter, and Brantley, who can't pick up all of Tremble's minutes on their own... so Maryland would have to go bigger than they usually would.

IF all three of those guys are out, and IF we can get their guards in a little foul trouble (the two starting guards are both freshmen, so maybe?) this might get really interesting.

Of course, knowing our luck, they'll all play off the bench and show no indication of illness or injury.

I would like Rutgers chances far better if this was a home game.Rutgers has lost over 20 straight league games and to win on the road you need shooters to silence the crowd.

Everyone needs to put the pipe down if you take Turgeon's comments at face value. If you think Maryland hasn't taken their preparation beyond Rutgers, get over it. Within a week they play Minnesota, Ohio State, and Purdue. Tonight's game on their home court is a gimme for the Terps.

If you think Maryland will take Rutgers lightly you're mistaken. We lost to Nebraska who you just beat. No one overlooking that.

This. For whatever reason the Terps never blow anybody out. I expect it to be a good game with about 3 minutes left and then BAM-- goodnight Irene.......head the bus North.

Turgeon just stated that to try to keep his team interested and focused on this game. I just want us to acquit ourselves well, keep building and improving. I assume one of their bench players or someone who doesn't play well will go off and score 22 when given the chance...their bench I'm sure is talented...and this RU we are talking about...we make Jarrett Browns of the world look like all pros...

So much for Trimble not playing. Results as per expected. Losses pile up. No moral victories at Div-1 level.
