We already saw the Politi article or heard about calling for Flood's resignation.
Edelson in the Asbury Park Press wrote a similar piece that Flood must resign or be fired. I ain't linking it.
The Asbury Park Press wrote an editorial that Kyle Flood needs to be disciplined.

Is Rutgers finally not going to cave to media pressure? Or will it follow course like it did in the pass and throw people under the bus?

They did not fire Julie when all of the media stories were swirling after her hire.

If Kyle Flood is cleared in the e-mail investigation, and the players were not CHARGED with crimes until yesterday, what would Rutgers purported reason be to fire Kyle Flood? Yes, the perception does not appear to be good. But should a football coach be fired based on perceptions, or actual misdeeds?

Rutgers went 1-0 against the media when they did not cave to media pressure.

Will Rutgers be 1-0 this week (or in the coming weeks) with respect to Kyle Flood?

You don't fire a coach for a player or players getting arrested. PERIOD. Those calling for him to be fired area idiots. That doesn't happen in college football. And I for one, am not a Flood fan.

I don't know, it us not like this board is know for melodramatic over reactions.

I am sad they that decided to throw their careers and future away over dumb stuff and the fact that our CB/ safety corps are now paper thin or non existent now.

Sorry i'm not an idiot and don't really care about what happens in "college football". What concerns me is what is going on with the football program at the school I graduated from many years ago. I take pride in the fact that RU has had (in the past) minimal off field incidents and that players graduate in large numbers. I can deal with 5-7 seasons on the field. Seeing the school submerged in negativity for some alleged pretty bad stuff is not acceptable to me. I've been a supporter of the current HC, however, it seems the culture within the football program has changed pretty drastically over the last 2 or 3 years...and not in a good way. What also bothers me are people who are very quick to criticize to no end bad behavior and tolerance of it at other schools but then rationalize and excuse it at RU....kind of shallow and hypocritical. We'll see what happens but this is not a good time for RU football obviously.

not sure I see a lot of folks calling for his head but more understanding about how this could cost him his job. We have 10 players suspended for the first game. TEN. Two packs of five that decided it was cool do do stuff ranging from just plain stupid to criminal. Two of them a captain/1st Team All B1G player and a potential starting QB. Plus a couple of other starters on defense. When have you EVER seen something like this happen at Rutgers?

Certainly there is an issue of leadership and discipline. At a minimum commitment to the program (by the players).

Yea well you are old and live in another time. The world has changed and college football is a business. Why are we in the B1G ? Money. This is a business and you don't make a dumb move by firing a coach for off the field action. You can name all 117 D1 teams and I guarantee you they have had multiple players in trouble with the law over multiple season. Name one school who released a coach based on that alone?

And again I'm not a Flood fan, but this is a moronic move to make. If they do fire him there is more to be story and it's a way of getting rid of him. I'd be willing to bet if we have 4-5 wins and no bowl they will fire after the season.

For those of us who have been with this program for a long time, one has to consider that a lot has changed over the years. The days of playing Lehigh, etc. are long gone as are the true student athletes that we saw wearing scarlet.
Although the decision to go "big time" was certainly a rocky one with virtually no support from the administration or even a lot of the fans, we have somehow stumbled into a real conference after so many years of less than great results. The need to find players who can actually compete on this level is daunting for Rutgers.
Unfortunately, it seems that taking some players who are carrying baggage was deemed necessary. We all know other schools do this all the time and they also have had it blow up in their faces.
There are no easy solutions for RU and the near future is looking a bit bleak right now. Another coaching change will just cost us some more years I'm afraid.

Its like the entire board has Stockholm Syndrome.

Curious about this analogy because it really doesn't make sense. There are no hostages here - it's a free discussion board for varied opinions. I've seen some of your other posts and interpret that you might be of the opinion the Flood is neither honorable nor has integity. It seems fairly shallow and easy to sit behind a keyboard and point fingers in blame without providing any further insight. People here seem to expect some type of perfection or flawless behavior from young adults they don't even know just because they play football for RU. They seem to expect that a college coach should constantly be there in the players free time to monitor that behavior. Flood as any other person should be judged more on how he deals with and responds to adversity than how he manages things when they are going perfectly.

The coach is the captor, not the message board. You missed it.
