Students attendance at game is at an all time low. The section hasn't been full and thanks for a couple rows of Racpackers because the rest of the player in that section are either opposing teams fans, kids, or giveaways. I am not sure actual student attendance has been over 200 this year. I don't blame them. Usually at the beginning of the year they go to one non conference game get their free t shirt and realize the team isn't good and don't show up again until conference play rolls around but they didnt even really do that this year. RU easily has the worst student attendance of any power 8 conference and likely they sit probably in the bottom 50 or even 30 or so of ALL 350 D1 schools which is quite frightening when you think about it

So I assume students are back from break on Monday right? Will they show for that game and/or for Iowa to give the team at least a chance or will they just continue to stay away like the RAC is inflicted with a zombie plague. Is this school doing anything to promote these games to students? In the past we actually had a good number of students posting on the board, it dropped over the years but we have gone from a few to basically none

No, they will not show up.

Why? Our team lost to 34 to the next worst team in the league last game.

Kids aren't stupid

too many Indian and Asian students. i don't think they like basketball. or sports in general.

Why do the "POSITOIDS" think the students don't show up for games?

Ohio, cyrock, etc.

Just curious...

Why would they ? A better question is why some paying adults still show up . Plum street doesn't

football parking points

Dumb answer . One can just donate the $$ and get football parking points . Hell if people want to be idiots and go watch and support this garbage they can't be helped . It's their right to spend their money .

Not true Plum. I have season tickets for hoops for 36 straight years. Care to calculate how much I need to donate each year to obtain the 36 points I get for consecutive years?

BTW, I did downgrade to one ticket in 212 with no parking just to keep my consecutive years alive. Have not attended one game this year and won't.

Haha you have missed nothing but at least you have increased the season ticket holders in my section 212 to 6

I think there have been times the Rutgers students have come wearing the opposing teams' colors.

If we had a nicer RAC, they would definitely come

That would lead to a louder venue

Which would lead to better play by our team

Which would lead to more wins

Which would lead to even better players

Which would lead to even more students

Which would make the RAC even LOUDER....

And on it goes...

Just need better facilities! !!!

Why not just buy the ticket in 312 instead and put a couple hundred bucks in your pocket?

It takes craftsman to make the RAC nicer without money .It takes time ,patience, endurance and a lot of green stamps.

very few will attend

The students you refer to couldn't pick Eddie Jordan, Patt Hobbs or Bob Barchi out of a lineup.

During Greg's most successful season far less than half the student body could identify him in a photo lineup.

If you are not a season ticket holder in BB, I get not starting now, but if you have had Football and season tickets and bb season tickets for a long time, giving the bb tickets could seriously affect your tailgating lot, so people are reluctant to give them up. I get some people value money differently, and can donate more if they want, but for many people shelling out an additional $2k or $3k to make up for giving up bb season tickets is not the greatest option. Especially since all you have to do is buy one ticket in the 300 section to keep your consecutive years alive.

All the cheering in the world isn't going to turn players who can't shoot, pass, rebound, or defend into the UCLA dynasty. And it isn't going to turn coaches who have demonstrated that they're incapable of teaching any of these fundamentals into John Woodens.

Agree.

Please check your sarcasm meter also. :)

RAC could be our Cameron Indoor Stadium or Palestra if we were any good. Hate the RAC bashing. Do not want a generic, soul less, multi-pupose, Bryce Jordan Center.

But years of hiring on the cheap and self destruction left improving the facilities a must in order to get quality HCing candidates interested in taking a chance with their careers by taking the RU MBB HC position
Need to upgrade the BB facilities, but keep what makes them special part of the upgrade.
