Norries Wilson held his Sunday media teleconference today and talked quite a bit about Chris Laviano. He was asked about the lack of downfield passing and he basically said that shying away from that has not been part of the game plan. Here is his quote:
“We had some things on the script and on the game plan. There was going to be a downfield throw, we were all anticipating it, he took his other options on the other side that was wide open. We have nothing against that. Taking completions is a great thing. It is not something that has been unscripted or un-practiced. We are not trying to put our passing game in a phone booth. That is just going to limit the other things you can do in the run game. So don’t think that we are not prepared for that. It just has not happened right now and as we continue to practice, those things will come about.”
He also said today was an off day for coaches so there is really not much to report. There will be an injury report released on Monday. I will have more in a bit.
