I will ask this question. If senior days opponent was Purdue, do you think we acknowledge their seniors? I doubt it. This comes down to who is running game day ops. Been to many senior days and I have never seen the opposing teams seniors recognized.
I saw it at Princeton a few weeks ago on their Senior Day, they acknowledged the opposing teams seniors and gave them each flowers.
I’ve been to numerous over the years in multiple sports and have never seen it. Must be new. Bizarre if you ask me.
Went to Arizona's final away game against our rival Arizona State - ASU presented roses to our 2 senior players. I think we acknowledged the seniors from the other team at our senior day, but I don't remember any presentation.
And to be honest, have seen it a number of times historically with Rutgers, one way or the other pre 2011. Just as some teams might honor the visiting head coach, for example at Texas one year Jody Conradt made a presentation to Vivian before the game.
