What's going on with the star keeper who's on the US national U20 (I believe) national team?

She's been busy traveling with the national team. Not an injury or anything that should be of concern.

I'd say it's of some concern if she is not practicing with her team, including being absent from preseason games. I don't like these split commitments. Devote yourself to your college club & let the rest play out later.

Very confused by this. If the national team comes calling, you don't say no. Plain and simple. She'll only be better from the experiences she gains working with those coaches, and she'll be there when the games count. This is awesome news that we have a player of that caliber in the program, and should not be concerning whatsoever.

Shouldn't be too confusing. I don't agree. Your loyalty should be to your team. The other comes later. I know this is the way the world works, but I don't like it.

The United States is also her team, though.

Let me rephrase. Too your college club. Shame on the powers that be for setting up the system in this manner, pulling these young people in two directions at the same time. Murphy should be practicing & playing with RU & her teammates, developing chemistry among other things.

I think the national team commitment will always win out. Does anyone recall last year when we played at Penn State that one of their best players was not available because of a national team commitment. I don't think it was the US team but that was a regular season match against a good opponent. And PSU paid the price.

EXACTLY....if the national team comes calling you go and it reflects positively on the RU program

If you force them to choose...they'll take the national team every time, as they should. Better to have them on your squad but miss them at times because of their NT commitments, right?

Btw the first game is going on right now and Casey is in goal.
