The preseason rankings have been updated on WrestleStat to prepare for the start of the Fantasy Pick'Em contest tomorrow.

These should contain all transfers, weight changes, redshirts, etc.

In the past few days I've also made numerous improvements to the speed of each of these pages. If you notice anything taking longer than you think it should, don't hesitate to contact me.

Here are the rankings:

This is such a great tool and website. Thanks!

One curiosity for me, why is JVB ranked at 165 when he was 157 last year and said he expects to go 157 again this year?

Because the site is user friendly, meaning we allow users to move wrestlers to different weights. If I move him to 157 someone could move him to 165 if they wanted to. That being said we do monitor and don’t allow crazy moves. But JVB at 157 or 165 is within reason. To be honest I expect Glasgow to be 157 and JVB to be 165. But we should know in about 7 to 10 days.

Why do you think that Glasgow will get 157 and not 165 ....you honestly think vanbrill who is nationally ranked 9th at 157 will move to 165....you have inside info ? Please share if you do

No inside info, I think Glasgow and Van Brill wrestleoff and winner goes 157 loser goes 165. I just think Glasgow wins the match. I could be wrong about the winner of the match but I don’t subscribe to the theory that Van Brill has earned the right to pick the weight he wants to wrestle at.

Listening to Goodale's presser today, sounds like Glasgow will be 165.

PS- Indication bouts (aka Wrestle Offs) will be this Saturday, closed to the public. Goodale has said previously, the winner is not necessarily the starter.

Why have a wrestle off if it doesn't mean anything??

To give the staff (and wrestlers) and 'indication' on where they are at, competition wise . LOL. I really don't know. I guess if a big underdog gets lucky and wins a 1 point match against a star, the star is still going to be the starter.

Nobody said he did ...he always does what’s best for the team even when Richie screwed the team early last year with his making weight issues ya never head a peep from JVB who suffered most from that fiasco and I believe he has certainly earned everything he has done so far so why would now be any different ...it is what it is ..may the best kid win

It was mentioned in another thread “Wrestling - First Practice of Season” that JVB should decide where he wants to go.

We had a guy who was a 4x state placer in NJ on our team. He was my practice partner. I could occasionally beat him, and always keep bouts close. I knew him so well for so many years that the skill gap simply didn’t matter. If I accidentally beat him that wouldnt have made me the better wrestler.

My point is familiarity neutralizes skill sometimes. You want an idea of who is better against everyone else, not their practice partner.

So much for your rankings and predictions ....give JVB some respect ..he did miss All American by 19 seconds and is ranked 9th in the nation at 157 by people who obviously know more then you do ....
