You know you're a true Rutgers fan when....(have some fun here guys)

when you're getting married and you schedule the wedding/honeymoon in late July to not mess with football season even though the fall might have been a better option

I did the same thing in 1997. Got hitched 1 week after final game.

Got married did not care about anything but the date. It was a Nov date, married on a bye week followed by an away game still married thirty years later.

When you get the Latin phrase that Terry Shea posted at the end of the tunnel tattooed on your shoulder.

You still read The Ledger

You convinced yourself and your tailgate that there was a path to victory against OSU this year (albeit after much Jim Beam).

You truly believe the salmon uniforms look good!

You stayed until the end of the 2011 WVU game.

You get your news from Subway

.........You go to a family wedding and wear headphones to listen to an away game during the ceremony and reception.

and Flood was a good coach who just needed more time!

How about - ...... you stayed until the end of the Nov 3, 2001 away game at WVU after losing 80-7.

I guess I'm not a true Rutgers fan.

You post so many threads you finally run out of material and just post ,

And 15 people reply to it!

That's a good one, too.

But honestly, what is there to do in Morgantown that you were really missing by staying.... unless you brought your own couch to burn, or there was a corn cob pipe making class being offered. :D

You missed the 'have some fun here guys' part of the thread title. :p

These are things that people have done that are outward signs of being a "true Rutgers fan"... not things you have to have done to be one.

Lighten up, Francis. :D

Unfortunately we did not have more time to give plus the off field issues made this decision easy. We absolutely did the right thing here by going in a new direction. On the other hand, what if we did not give Schiano more than 4 years? His record was much worse and we absolutely did the right thing by keeping him longer. So let's give this topic a rest and be happy we have some positive momentum in our program like we did back in the 2005-2009 years. It was much needed. Move on.

As for the unifroms they were not Salmon but I did not like them at all. Liked all of the helmets and everything but the red/red home game combo that i could not tell the uniform numbers live (could tell watching replays on TV).

I really wish I never stayed to the end of the New Hampshire game.
Oh and I hate the word "muff"

....when you know the Football and Basketball teams so well that you are 27-2 the last two years ATS.

...you were on the TD Club Army bus trip...THAT TD Club bus trip.

...after the 1998 5-6 season, you looked at the '99 schedule and convinced yourself 6 wins and a bowl was at least a 50/50 option.

...you can convince yourself we will lose to a middle school team yet possibly beat a Top 10 team.

...you cannot watch any clips from the 2012 UL and VT games, with the 06 WVU game being up there as well.

...you still get thrilled when you see pictures of our bowl trophies because you remember when the idea of us having them seemed beyond absurd.
