Although laboring under the Nike banner, U.S. women’s soccer star Carli Lloyd apparently doesn’t get it. Last week from reader John DeMeo:
“I need your help understanding something. I was watching the World Cup final with my 11-year-old yesterday. What is wrong with Carli Lloyd?
“She scored three goals yet after each she ran with joy exploding all over her face. What in the world?
“Why didn’t she stare menacingly into the crowd or grab her crotch in front of the Japanese bench? I was half expecting my 11-year-old, an ESPN-watcher, to ask what she was so happy about. With the world as her stage, Carli Lloyd chose not to act like a self-absorbed cretin. What?”
