In general football is the hardest sport to do in the bubble because of the amount of players / staff and the need for training facilities / equipment that is not easily available.

My thought is:
- 8-10 game season
- Start mid December with games in AZ, FL, and CA with none or 25% fans with players in a 3-4
week bubble
- create 4 team pods (potentially inviting UConn, Army, BYU, or New Mexico st - Indies) to help
keep everything balanced with 16 teams.
- teams are quarantined for 2 weeks on campus and then 1 week at the game facility
- For Rutgers is can be a pod of PSU, Maryland and UConn / Army with games played in Orlando
or Tampa
- game 1 between Dec 15 and Dec 24 against 1 of the other 3 teams in the pod
- game 2 between Dec 25 and Dec 30 against 1 of the other 3 teams in the pod
- game 3 between Jan 1 and Jan 8 against the last team of the pod
- games 4-6 in new pods starting Feb 1
- the new pod may have Rutgers, Michigan, Northwestern, and Nebraska with games played in
Minneapolis, Detroit, or Indianapolis
- games 7-10 will be non-pod conference games on campus with limited fan capacity starting Mar 1
- the following can be the games for Rutgers - Ohio St, Indiana, Michigan and 1 B10 West game

For non-football fall sports like Soccer and Field hockey
- have bubble tournaments in December / January in warm locations like FL, AZ, and CA
- they can play 2-3 games a week for 2-3 weeks
- break up the conference like the football divisions where you play 6 games against division foes
- top 3 from each division continue on to the knockout stage (2nd in B10W vs 3rd in B10 E / 2nd in B10E vs 3rd in B10W). winners play the top teams. Losers play a consolation game.
- teams not making the knockout play 2 consolation games vs other division
- then 4-6 weeks later the B10 can have a limited league schedule on campus that includes the group rounds / consolation games of the January tournament along with 4-6 more games. The knockout round games will not count for standings but will count as tie breakers for conference tournament seed

Something similar to soccer / field hockey can be done for basketball over a 2-3 week period
- teams at 1 location for 14 days after 14 days of isolation on campus.
- break up conference into divisions / pods (potentially 7 per division / pod)
- play 6 games over 10 days against pod / division
- day 11 is an off day
- top 8 make knockout rounds
- round of 8 is day 13
- round of 4 is day 15
- championship is day 17
- round of 8 losers play a consolation game on day 16
- bottom 6 play consolation games
- 1st consolation is day 12
- 2nd consolation is day 14
- 3 to 4 weeks after tournament - limited regular season of 10 to 12 games on campus with limited fans

we want college sports but it has to be safe. The MLS welcome back tourney is a great model to follow.

As much as we want college football back, we can't gamble with these kids lives.
Then close all schools; if sports can’t happen then these schools with 10s of thousands of students shouldn’t be having any classes; 100% online, no exceptions. No sports of any kind, too...fall or spring...flu season is coming so mandate masks everywhere at all times.

yep, they should be online except when they can't (ie. lab classes but with precautions).

These are not pro athletes and they don't have the same advantages the pro leagues have.

At this point classes should be online and sports should be on hold.

all it takes is 1 kid to get Covid via sports activities and die. you will see a multimillion dollar lawsuit settlement. You will also have a few kids with other lingering covid ailments that will probably sue too since they may not be able to resume athletics anymore. Too many unknowns for unpaid student athletes.

Can't be 100% online, no exceptions. My daughter is a nursing major. Explain how they would do clinicals online?
