For those that have actually followed women's BB for years her mom is the great DeMaya Walker a WNBA star herself Saw her play many times at MSG.
Even though she is a Texas native, Perkins has ties to New Jersey. Her mother is DeMya Walker-Wheatfall, a former high school All-American at Rancocas Valley high school in Mount Holly, New Jersey. She became Virginia’s all-time leader in field goal percentage and blocked shots before playing 12 seasons in the WNBA. Walker won a WNBA title in 2005 with the Connecticut Sun and averaged 7.1 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 335 career games. Walker-Wheatfall coached her daughter at St. Pius X.
