OT: Wizards/Caps owner moving teams out of DC

My son lives in DC Chinatown, two blocks from the arena. I'd say it's unlikely he'll be in the same apartment in 2028, but that would be bad for the neighborhood to lose those teams.
I know times are different, but how did it work out when both teams were in Landover, MD. Also how is Virginia working out for the Washington Football Team. To me is it a stupid move to take teams out of a city to the suburbs, and this coming from a Giants fan who lives in not too far from Giants Stadium(I still call it that).

Answering for myself, I loved when they were in Landover, which was just a few minutes away from my hometown of Bowie. We could get student discount seats for $3. I was at Caps games all the time in late seventies and early eighties (when the team sucked). It was a great way to take my mind off my nightly hunger from cutting weight for wrestling.
But it seems like they had a good thing going currently. Being downtown made it accessible for both Maryland and Virginia fans. It was more difficult for Virginians to come all the way around the Beltway to Landover, and will be the same for Marylanders in reverse if this happens...

Tiring to see states give in to sweetheart deals. Stupid to move out of DC. OKC also gets 900M new stadium on the backs of taxpayers yet most won’t be able to afford tickets.
There should be a provision that X number of tickets per game are affordable if built by taxpayers.

Ha ha, this is all about "unifying our community."
What does any of this have to do with "capitalism," unless we are spelling it with a capital "C" ?
If it cleans up the Potomac Yards area and creates a great community around the arena, it could build a lasting legacy and unify a new community.
In some places the government has been flipped to protect the criminals more than the people.

My capitalist credentials are well-documented. I also happen to believe in spreading the wealth a bit. These two things don’t have to be in conflict.
