Two teams closely behind us suffered losses on Monday 1/19. Oklahoma State followed that loss with another Sat 1/24.
Minnesota gave up 50 first half points to Purdue, came back in second half to force OT at 79-79, but lost
That was the only Thursday result that could help us move up but we have Minnesota at the RAC Sunday
and could take care of that ourselves
Although Duke losing to BC and facing North Carolina Sunday could drop to our neighborhood with another loss.
Edit: Duke wins and will keep them above us.
Georgia and Florida State knocking off higher ranked teams cements their positions in the Top 25
Rutgers needs to take care of #21 Minnesota on Sunday as loser may drop out.
Edit : We did.

Hoping other teams lose so we can move up is not primary.
Win, then win, then win again and the rankings will take care of themselves.
We need a streak of wins.
Don't want to be an 8 or 9 seed in the NCAAs (he says, looking far ahead!)
Speaking of far ahead; Feb 9 #1 South Carolina vs. #2 Connecticut

Top 15 had nine losses this week, seven of those to ranked teams

Big Big Ten game tonight Monday Jan 26 Iowa vs. Nebraska

Seton Hall at 17-2 (only losses at West Virginia and at St. Johns)
and
George Washington 16-2 (only losses their opener at FGCU and to Maryland by 10)
knocking on the door. FGCU also 16-2. One of the FGCU losses was to Ohio State.

Edit George Washington won both games this week. Duquesne 83-56 and LaSalle 67-48
Seton Hall beat Villanova 59-56. and Georgetown Sunday. 99-85

Re: Poll Watch Week of Jan 19

Duke may fall quite a lot after the loss last night - BC is pretty bad. Meanwhile, Georgia, which seemed to be struggling, will get a boost from the TAMU game, but still has Tennessee lurking.

Bek, that is the exact mentality I've been posting about this entire season pertaining to RU ranking. Very nice to see someone else that agrees.

"Hoping other teams lose so we can move up is not primary. Win, then win, then win again and the rankings will take care of themselves".

We've got Minn. and Nebraska (both ranked) in the near future, those games we need to win badly. Take care of our own business.
