The thread isn't necessary to generate unknown items. All I know is Pike is extremely loyal and protects his players but he's kinda not doing that in this instance.....here's why.
Different situation, different person and different player. If we rewind just a year ago, Caleb McConnell who had multiple surgeries and a back issue, had a back issue and flare up during warm-up at a game at Wisconsin.....he was running around loosening up with a back brace to try and get it loose enough, so he could gut it out and play. He absolutely couldn't, which anyone with back issues can attest to how painful that can be and prevent anyone from just doing normal things, forget about running, jumping and taking charges from 225 LB players, driving to the hoop.
Pike's press conferences were totally different, he clearly explained Caleb being a warrior and attempting to play through it for his teammates and how bad he wanted to play. Keep in mind, Caleb has a knee scope that prevented him from starting the season.
This Mag thing is NOT the same situation.....the player is actually practicing and I didn't attend the Northwestern game live, but was told Mag was warming up with the team and less than 10 to 15 minutes before tip, could not play.
We fast forward to Minnesota, same situation, he practices the days before the game and pregame, he does play and now 4 to 5 days later, the same thing happens again.
Irregardless of whether Mag is 75%, 85% healthy or whatever it may be, the item of not playing any minutes, is somewhat concerning. If he could provide RU with 10 to 15 minutes, it could make a difference, but we're not even getting that at this point.
In either case, the original poster should not be speculating on Georgia Tech/Karl Hobbs etc....these are already known items that many, including myself can easily "guess" about.
The reality is, we have to reduce minutes and expectations for Mag the rest of season and as a starter for next year. He's simply not reliable enough to count on. The fact that he's not able to provide any minutes off the bench, to me, is a red flag. No one is holding him accountable or asking him to play 28 to 29 minutes, but to practice and then not play any minutes, doesn't add up to me.
