I've just been really thinking about the transfer portal and how much it needs to change before college football is ruined forever.

Becoming a HC is akin to being a police officer everything is stacked against you and benefits are being far outweighed by the negatives for both the coaches and the schools with both the NIL and transfer portal. This cannot go on forever without severe repercussions

They are investing a shitload of time & money recruiting these kids only to lose them the following year and having double your efforts in the transfer portal. The time and effort to do this is taking away from the the tinecand effort that should be going to teaching and growing your players.

1) Any P-5 player cannot transfer to a P-5 school w/o losing a year of eligibility no matter reason. Or maybe even going back translating that back down to 1AA
2) The only way you dont lose year of eligibility is if you eligibility is if you transfer outside of P5
3) Only 1 transfer per player and that's it. You transfer you better be sure that's where you need to be and thats it
4)If there is an NIL in play the school that takes that player must buy out that NIL to the existing school on top of what the new school is providing thru their back door NIL channels
Hopefully that stops the $$$ & coaches actively stealing players. The school needs to be held financially responsible for pulling a player from another school
5) if something is not done it will become the wild wild west most money wins. Eventually universities and states will not invest the $$$ to play a losing financial game.

Don’t hate the player, hate the game. We either adapt or we won’t be able to compete with the Big Boys.

Not bad points by the OP, however it will not change. Add in NIL, and the games you can play with it, and college football is just the name now. It will not change back.

So many people will always bring up coach movement, just for asking the question. No chance.

OP must think we live in the 1950s if he believes what he wrote on the first couple of points.

Coaches leave programs right after signing day all the time and recruits used to be stuck or would play games with who they could transfer to if they wanted out of programs. If not for their bad behaviors the transfer portal doesn't exist. Now they leave before major bowl games. So they still only care about themselves.

You're blaming the wrong group when it comes to NIL. The NCAA screwed everything up royally there and couldn't even defend themselves in the lawsuit. All they had to do was settle it years ago and move on. But they were too dumb and have neutered themselves in the process with P5 conferences. The emperor has no clothes and is powerless to change anything without getting dragged to court again and losing.

No I'm 100% not. The $$$ being and that will be spent in the future is not sustainable. Most programs & athletic departments are losing money and that will only increase in the future

Change will be slow coming because of how bad the NCAA lost in court and how schools and coaches have treated players in the past. Any restriction of movement is seen as more harmful to the student athlete than the schools at this point. And NIL will require some sort of scandal before changes are made. Just the way the system works unfortunately and it will lead to some schools dropping football or dropping to a lower level.

No one will except for a handful of schools who have the stomach and alumni support to do all it takes.

Then those schools will break away and form their own league and this nonsense will all be complete.

There is no scandal for NIl. It’s open season and all legal.

It was always going to be about the money. We were always going to be on the short side of the stick. College FB doesn't make money by making lower teams better (us) they do it by cementing the popular dominating teams as more dominant.

This might be the worst rule proposals ever.

Aside from the fact that they are also the worst rule proposals for Rutgers?

Let me ask you - where did Gus Edwards transfer from?
Noah Vedral our starting QB?
Cruickshank?
Singleton?

OSU QB just declarded he's transferring. So Rutgers can't try and get an elite transfer?

Instead they go to G5 school and help boost up those school?
Those schools aren't passing OSU/Bama.
They are passing us first.
