🏀 List of Best Defenders in the Big Ten 🏀

Mag is clearly a better defender than Cliff. IMO it's not particularly close. Cliff keeps getting burned by big men one on one, and not just elite ones. He's had some nice blocks but also goes for too many where he can't really contest and leaves offensive boards open. He doesn't box out well at all on defensive boards. Cliff has the athletic ability to be a really good defender, but he hasn't put it all together
I will agree but asterisk** your comment that in the recent games Cliff has used his feet a lot better and is a key part of the defense now. R defense really works as a unit.. they have to move and cut down passing lanes TOGETHER.. and the traps.. TOGETHER. It is awesome to watch and I hope they are all proud of what they have become.. a KNIGHTMARE to opponent offense.

One of Cliff's big flaws was trying to get the help-block and leaving his man to clean the boards and score easily while someone.. sometimes Cliff.. fouls him. Cliff has wisely stopped this nonsense... stopped chasing blocks and gets them when they come at him. If Cliff does not belong on this list now.. he could easily be there later this year because he seems to be improving in every way even since the season began.
