1976 undefeated team to be honored tonight

We haven't seen or heard about Nate Toran for a while, hope he is alive, well and makes it.

52 SACKS in 3 season, Record 19 in 1974

Hope its not a repeat of the 2006 team being honored.

Yes.... hopefully they respond to the feedback from the fans...... so far they have ignored our advice when it comes to the horse video.... my guess is they short change the attendees

Today's Rutgers "fans" would have complained that the game was played in the Meadowlands.

We beat a tube of toothpaste. I was at the University of Florida trying to get the result. Not like today.where I could have streamed it. I had to call my brother in East Brunswick to get the happy recap..

The way you honor them is with a win
Tough game to honor a undefeated team. On the flip side of that argument the undefeated team probably realizes that they would be in this identical position given the schedule. Back in the early 70's the Patriot league was a minor step up from 178lbs football.

The 1976 team would beat the team by 21 points or more.
I'm not saying it's not possible, it very well may be possible especially with this team. However, if you look at the average weight of the O-Line (from both the 1976 & 1978 teams) I believe it was 248lbs. The real shocker is the D-lineman. The average guy was 5' 11" maybe 6' 225-235lbs. Please correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Frank Burns (circa 1982) criticize Rutgers and the AD for scheduling schools like BC, PSU and Cuse due to the disparity in size and the unrealistic expectations to compete against bigger, faster and stronger athletes? Burns was a game day genius. Yes, he played a patriot league schedule with one or two legit teams and beat them!!

Made the 1961 undefeated season but missed 1976 living in Chicago. To this day I could cry over it.
