$2.49 tickets deal for Caldwell

They must expect NO ONE at this game to do this

Why devalue tickets that way? This morning I bought 10 tix @ $25 ea. $2.49 is an insult.
I paid more than $25 when I bought my season tickets. But I didn't buy the seats they're selling for $2.49. And if you paid $25, you didn't get those seats either.

The $2.49 was a 6 hour promotion for the seats priced at $12.

I think it is a good way to get some interest in this game. Some of the people attending this game may buy tickets to future games, or eventually season tickets.

Yeah, great concept. Offer deals to the folks already big Rutgers Fans on facebook lol. I get 3 to 4 different emails from RU for more donations...But not this.
If you want to expand the attendance I would suggest reaching out to folks not already following on facebook.
As always..too short, too limited, too invisible. Worst marketing dept. In D1 sports.
Let's see..instead of blasting the piped In music did they even announce the deal the DAY BEFORE at the Laf game? Or try to sell this deal AT THE LAF GAME?

Interesting that you confirmed Rutgers as the worst D1 Marketing Department out of 347 D1 basketball programs and 252 D1 football programs.

So, who's in the Top 10 of marketing departments?

Who are the others that are really bad, but, not quite as horrible as Rutgers. Rutgers is 347, which schools are 336 to 346?

Lol

Give him a break. His claim that Rutgers Athletics had the worst marketing department was obviously hyperbole.

But he is right that Rutgers Athletics doesn't seem to do a good job in reaching their target audience, even when they do have good promotional ideas.

Well its kinda like me saying you're one of the top 10 " Rutgers never does anything wrong" apologists. I haven't met all 800,000 living alumns and I couldn't give you all the other 9 names but based on MY PERSONAL INTERACTIONS I can confidently put you on that list. Does that help explain the thinking?

For Caldwell it should be free admission and for season ticket holders the promise of a free guest ticket per season ticket they hold

Obviously, they will not be making any money here.
Why not get a hold of the regional gyms and schools and let them in for free? But, this is something you have to plan early.
Have to think they expected this game to be a problem for filling the seats.
